Financial Fair Play (FFP)

I understand more now why Forest feel hard done by - we have been treated unfairly I understand the expert is a Forest fan but he makes some excellent points about how badly this has been managed by the Premier League.
This ought to be compulsory viewing for not only all Forest fans but the PL too. Listening to this podcast I'm of the view that the PL is not run professionally, the rules are a shambles & worse are not applied consistently/fairly (much like VAR). The disallowing of the covid loss & promotion bonuses 2 weeks before the end of our Accounting Year after Forest had thought it had been accepted & agreed by the EFL. The bottom line is Forest have been shafted. The club were right to appeal.

Yup, the school always had a popular „JD“ (Junior Department) where kids from the age of eight could go, if they (for example) had potential to become choristers at the nearby Cathedral.
The same opportunities are available for girls as well as boys these days as well, which is fantastic news.

The music department was always prized, even in my day, and if you were of even a modicum of musical talent, you could get away with all sorts of stuff, whilst being able to skip some lessons to go and do music.

Similar with sports too, especially Rugby.
I was a boarder and Prefect at Sacrista Prebend where the Choristers were housed with the Pulfords.

Mr. (Stephen) Pulford was Deputy Head in my time there.

And not a man to be trifled with.

Just seen Reid has been fined 5K and two match ban for his language to Tierney and Forest fined too. But what punishment did Tierney get? As Reid would say F*** all.
The PL is a complete joke. When Boly was sent off the PL admitted the referee got it wrong..........but Boly still had to serve a 1 match suspension. Tierney should also have been suspended & fined for not knowing the rules.
I hope everybody on here watches the Garibaldi Red Podcast above where Robert Matusiewicz demolishes the PL case against us. We should not have had a points deduction at all. If we had decent investigative journalism in this country they'd be all over it. The PL makes billions but isn't run professionally.

Particularly the ones with Covid claims 10x ( & more ) ours.
It’s not so much that I think Forest should be able to claim artificially inflated losses due to this, more that no-one should be able to.

(Well actually I think the FFP rules as currently formulated should be immediately scrapped so the whole topic is moot. But if not that then….)

Only to show my disdain.
I don’t know why you support Forest, it only makes you depressed
I don't know why you partake in debates if you only want to hear one side of them.

And your psychic powers seem to know my emotional disposition about as well as they know what the club would have done given that information. Any idea of this weekends Lotto numbers? Coz I'll go put a different set on.

Any team getting promoted is at an immediate disadvantage.

Much smaller loss thresholds. An extraordinary outgoing for a promotion bonus that will further impact that same loss threshold. And only the 3 promoted club face this hurdle, who are most likely to need to improve their playing resources.

The only reason this isn't a closed shop is the incompetence of the established EPL clubs to manage themselves properly, and that clubs with parachute payments aren't quite as affected.

I'd like to see a breakdown of these £12.1m Covid costs for 21/22. It's over 40% of our turnover, which seems a lot considering stadiums were fully open.
Perhaps we should ask for a similar breakdown of Evertons £150m+ covid costs

So basically the PL threw us under the bus. After the season ended, with the transfer window opening 2 weeks later, leaving us literally no time to sell Johnson before the 30th June. If we don’t get some points back Marinakis is going for a legal battle I reckon. Masters has screwed us big time and he has made a mockery of the PL.
It will all depend upon the details around the earlier correspondence we had with the EPL I suppose. If we were consistent in our approach it opens big questions around why the EPL acted in the way they did and the clarity of the rules around what constitutes extraordinary payments that can be excluded from the PSR position.

I still want us to yank the covid thread. The penalty is all about sporting advantage and some of the losses written off were so large and uncorroborated that if not true they ensured a huge sporting advantage in light of PSR. As it was an artificial measure created specifically for PSR it is the EPLs responsibility to police this, so what measures have they put in place to ensure only Covid losses were claimed, and that a consistent approach was used by all. We're effectively being punished for not being in the EPL at a time to take advantage of the lack of due diligence and sub standard governance the EPL has applied around the single biggest contributor to PSR write offs.

For Covid we were also measured under a different and much harsher regime creating a disparity which should also have been accounted for in the PSR rules to ensure sporting fairness.

We should certainly demand to see what measures the EPL put in to ensure all PSR loss write downs due to Covid losses was policed. If the measures, if there are any, are substandard we should be demanding every clubs position is revisited to ensure no club received a sporting advantage by falsely affecting their true PSR position.

Covid loss write downs are central to the last 3 years worth of PSR positions so potentially some teams would have incurred multiple penalties in that time if subject to the cap we faced. I think we're the only club with the EFL cap in the EPL this year.

I enjoy a good reasoned debate - The problem with debating with you - is I know exactly what your response is going to be - it is a broken record.
Even when it is clear on this occasion that the fault lies elsewhere, you manage to put a spin on it where it still sits at EM's door

You are right of course - I don't know your emotional disposition - it is probably me that is depressed on your behalf

I think Di Marco and his team have done a brilliant job.
By fully co-operating they have lulled the epl into a false sense of security and as a result, all of their faults and mistakes are now recorded on public record in the published report.
Now let's go for the jugular and fully expose them for what they are.
