I assume we're going to get details of our breach today as well as the punishment? It'll be kind of ridiculous if we get a deduction or fine and don't even know how much we have overspent by.

One would think that would have to be the case, because otherwise, how does the Independent Commission justify the level of punishment?

I predict it will be whatever we spent on <list of players I don’t like> putting us over the limit, with the fees spent on <list of players I do like> keeping us well within the threshold.

For Everton they've released the full report at the same time as the announcement, so we should see the same.

It'll cover all the details, including level of the breach, background info, aggravations and mitigations, along with the Commission’s reasonings

Do the commissioners have any contact/affiliation with any footballing authority? Are they just lawyers/judges who determine the legal case, completely forgetting the footballing angle? Do they have affiliations/support any football club?

Are these personal details revealed in the report?

They're all fans of Luton Town.

If the loss would have been covered by the £30m that Brentford offered for Bren before the end of the FFP period (I know it's been said he wouldn't go there). We really didn't get any benefit last season but there is an argument that we did this from the extra money that we got and when Bren played against Sheffield United which was the only game this season we got points in when Bren played. I suppose that one solution that folk could argue for as fair would be the elimination of those, i.e. a 3 point deduction and a fine equivalent to the difference between what Spurs payed and what Brentford offered.

Personally, for me, selling Bren for the higher price serves better the sustainability of the club than selling at the lower price so shouldn't be punished. The only real advantage that I can see that affects the spirit of FFP are the three points we got against Sheffield United when Bren played, but whether we would have won or not without him can't be known. I seem to recall it was a tough game. Bren needed to be in the shop window to aid the sale.

3 points deduction max for me.

I'm originally from Nottingham and can confirm that the residents of Burnham and Bridgwater are exceptionally special Weston has also got a similar mentality and the youth especially appear to be getting worse year by year, it's certainly not all roses my friend I quite agree like many places I suspect nowadays can't blame Nuno for that

I once had to overnight at a pub/hotel on the front at Burnham on Sea about 8 years ago. Worst beds I have ever had to use and the noise and singing from the bar went on until the early hours. There was a decent Chinese just around the corner.
Is that where they have the shortest peir ever or I am getting confused?

They're all barristers who support Derby.

We know there’s a point deduction pending but not how many, yet.

What interests me the most is the amount we were over and if it actually is just the Bren amount. I will be annoyed if it’s more since we were told many times by the club that we were fine and not over the limits.
The report will be interesting to say the least.
Guess it will be less points deducted if the report is short and to the point, here’s hoping.

If Mel Morris was on the panel he'd have argued that we actually made a profit because Harry Arters book value is £120m and we actually paid HMRC like the fools that we are.

I'm not sure he could provide much use though because it relates to accounts that we have submitted not ones that we didn't submit for 3 years.

It looks like Skybet have suspended betting on relegation this morning for the premier league. That points to them thinking something is incoming

Betting companies getting news before supporters? Sounds about right.

Surprised to see Everton fans crying we had a "sporting advantage" when our squad is worth less than there's (and most of last year's PL teams) plus spent less money than they did over this 3 year period we are being charged for plus our losses are bench marked against are 44 million less. Do we think after PSR allowable deductions we have lost more than there 124.5million? If we did then fair enough. If we haven't you cannot convince me we had any sporting advantage over teams in the PL last season.

There focus is nothing but the breach and by how much regardless if our losses are less than there's.

Finger crossed for a lesser and fairer punishment.

I want to know what the.club have to say how it happened after all the promises of remaining in limits.

Who is going to accept responsibility - can't blame the Ref, VAR, bad luck, poor defending, set piece coach, the manager, Lineker, the players ... this only reats with the club leadership, who will likely shy away from an honest statement.

If and when we get the decision it’s likely to be the worst scenario (like Everton).
It’s an independent Commission with only the guidance from the Everton outcome to aid their decision.
We have the right of appeal against the decision to another independent commission but this is time limited.
If the decision is harsh - more than six points, it’s likely that we will appeal. This will take us to the end of the season.
If the decision is less than six points the Club will have a decision to make as to whether to appeal. Given the bullish nature of our owner he may appeal any points deduction.

I hope that we have clarity before our next game so that we can focus on staying up.

I know that there are plans to change PSR next season - possibly related to wages as a % of turnover. No one knows our real financial position but we know that we have thirteen players out of contract. I worry about our ability to properly recruit for 2024/25 and how we finance it.

Probably answered somewhere in the previous 231 pages, but what's the timescales for Everton's second charge? I guess even knowing our deduction wont be in full context until we know theirs?
