I know that Forest will never be as big as Liverpool - but as football club - they do a lot of things right and that is what Forest should be doing on a smaller scale.
I realise that there are empty shops everywhere in all major cities - it is a major problem with no easy answers
Living in Liverpool, you should know more than most the huge economic benefits of having a successful globally renowned football club in the city

Liverpool's worst decade economically coincided with that club's most productive decade.

The linkage is over stated.

(God it hurt saying that last bit :frustration: )
Yeah, I'm sorry about that bit.

Leicester look to be next in the firing line then for breaching PSR rules last season. Should they get promoted they'll more than likely start the season on minus points.

If true - bit more of an incentive to be in the PL next season. Although the way this farce is going we'll have 3 or 4 teams starting on minus points...

...all whilst nothing becomes of the top 6 teams. They can just keep winning things and spending what they want can't they?

Yes, yes they can.

Interesting that it sounds like Leicester will not be deducted points for being charged for the exact same accounting periods breached as both Forest & Everton.

Guessing that'll be due to the fact they're currently in the EFL and the PL want the punishment to apply when they're in the PL.

This really is a mess isn't it.

This is a joke, PL are now destroying the Promotion and Survival race, they don’t care about the affect it is having on anybody.

They've quietly wanted a "closed shop" no promotion no relegation league for years.

The idiot Phil Gartside voiced it and was so roundly shot down for the idea by pretty much 72 clubs and the supporters of more like 92 that it was formally shelved.

Doesn't mean they can't tweak lots of rules and regulations to ensure the next "best" thing for themselves, namely the ones that come up, go down ,, and the ones that go down come up again.

Not quite a closed shop but about as near as you can get and all this while the idea officially doesn't exist.

Have you heard the theory that all of these VAR decisions and additional time etc. is aimed at elongating the games to the point where we play 4 quarters instead of the traditional 2 halves because of the additional revenues that could be generated from the commercial breaks.
Contrary to public opinion this Conspiracy theory has nothing to do with more than 50% of EPL teams being owned by Americans who were bought up on the NFL format.
I'm not one for conspiracy theories, but that does sound entirely plausible.

Further to Played on Grass's comment about the theory about wanting to adopt an American football model, isn't the MLS non-relegation/promotion?
This whole thing stinks.

Yep and worse than that once teams can no longer win their league it's a race to the bottom as teams virtually thrown games because the bottom placed team gets the first drafts for the best players the following season

I remember reading, in the run up to the '94 World Cup that was held in Meriky, there were suggestions in the US that football would be more exciting if each half had three zones.

A goal scored from the other half up to the half way line would be equal to three goals, between there and outside the box 2 goals and 1 goal if scored inside the box.

Thankfully it got no traction, otherwise I would have given up on the beautiful game there and then. The ***** hosted one of our tournaments for one time and they tried to change it completely!

I remember the exact same thing I've used it for years to highlight how dumb Americans can be didn't they also want bigger goals

I live in Liverpool. Whatever you think of the club, LFC brings in tourists all year round to do stadium tours and museum visits. Liverpool City centre is littered with empty shops.

That's because it costs businesses 150% of their revenue to insure their premises cos of all the thieving bastards you live amongst.

Rubics

Bin VAR!
Well I only count 5 teams in the premier league that have won the European Cup so some of the big 6 ain't that f***ing big

Edit 6 even I forgot city won it last year
And thats what made it even more ridiculous that spurs and arsenal were trying to make it a closed shop! Trying to tell us and villa that we had no right to dream of winning it again. Shows how out of touch the 6 tourist teams are.

Exactly f***ing laughable but to be fair I'd be happy if they did f*** off I believe it would save our beloveded game
