So it looks like we'll be landing in London this Sunday around 10am. After unwillingly attending an arse match on the 28th, we will leave for Cardiff the next morning for the match that evening. The afternoon of the 30th, we'll catch a train into Nottingham and be there till the afternoon of the 1st. From there, it's a train back to London for the Charlton match on the 2nd, recovery/touristy day on the 3rd and fly out the afternoon of the 4th. With that in mind, here are some questions:
Who will be attending either one of those matches and would like to meet up for pints with us before or afterwards?
Forest play Leeds the day we arrive in London, the 27th. It doesn't look favorable as far as getting from Heathrow to the hotel to Kings Cross for a train that will put us in Nottingham in time for kickoff. Any chance someone on here lives in London that plans to drive up and wouldn't mind between 1 and 3 Americans tagging along? We would need to be picked up in the Kings Cross area and dropped off there after the match. Yeah, it's a lot to ask, but I figured it's worth a shot. We'll of course kick in for petrol and pints and whatnot if it's possible.
What is the plan for New Year's Eve in Nottingham? What's the hot spot where all the drunks congregate? Does the forum have a particular bar where something is planned that we could show up to and make awkward for everyone?
The fixture gods did not look favorably on us for this trip as you can see. The Vicar's astute planning was unfortunately not needed as we usually have a pregame gathering with a swear jar for charity and - on at least one occasion - a succulent holiday dinner. Anyway, let us know what's going on and where people will be. We can provide phone numbers that will (hopefully) work while we're there if anyone feels the need to contact us.
