I wouldn't loan Fin out especially as far as Barrow (assuming that's the one up north) to bulk him out.

He's only 18 and is probably best having the club's staff who have known him since he was a small child handle this as at that age if they push themselves too hard it can cause longer term damage (probably look at Michael Owen's injury record).

Assuming his strength will progress naturally he could be loaned to Notts or Mansfield so the club can still have him around a bit, assuming he isn't going to just get first team mens football (which is probably what he needs) with us.

Good to see you posting; you haven't been consumed in the fire.

The sky is covered in smoke but im used to that by now. Shame for the folks who had to evacuate tho, such a tough time of the year for many.

We should definitely be using the smaller local clubs like Notts, Mansfield, Chesterfield and Derby to give our younger players experience, keep them close to home, and give those clubs the benefit of quality players at their level.

An obvious loan of this type would be the up and coming Bong to Derby. We could even pay them to play him.

Yeah, Bong is such a hot prospect he's already smokin'

Barrow weren't in the League when I did my tour, but Morecambe and Fleetwood were bad enough. Can't imagine Barrow!

It’s quite a place Barrow, totally cut off, bleak looking place, all it’s traditional industry gone, lot of deprivation. It’s got character but it’s no place for our Finn.
Barrow Fc were the last club to get demoted out of the football league, back when it worked like that, in the same year we got promoted and then won the league. They were replaced by Wigan.

Barrow is a f***ing chav shit hole to be honest.

Not the place for public school boys to go and bulk up tbh.

Barrow lost their league status in 1972(Hereford replacing them)-the same year that Forest were relegated from
the 1st Division under Matt Gillies.
I was in Barrow 5 years ago and saw our youth team draw 0-0 at Holker Street-basically bully boys against our
more cultured youngsters, although I understand Barrow played some good football to earn a return to the Football
League under Ian Evatt in 2020.
Note-Former Liverpool and England captain Emlyn
Hughes(RIP)comes from Barrow-there is a statue
in the town centre.

Ryan Yates had a loan stint at Barrow.

I used Barrow as an example of the level/type of club it would do him good in the long run to spend time on loan with.

Having visited Barrow, I certainly don't advocate him moving there!

How was young fin when he came on?

Megged Brereton with his first touch.

Was a tough night for both full backs as Blackburn targeted them - Gallagher and Brereton playing out wide with diagonals floated into them to try and win the aerial battle. I actually thought both Back and Gabriel, despite their disadvantage in height, dealt with both pretty well.

Back had a couple of poor passes but could probably notch that down as exuberance.

He's not ready for consistent first team football yet but you can see there's potential to work with. Minutes off the bench in a handful of league games and starting in the cup would do him well.

Huge step up for him last night and I thought he did okay. His passing is very inconsistent but he looks a great prospect. I don't feel the same way about Gabriel. Thought he had another shocker. Tough for him to have to switch sides but he was at fault for both goals, missing his header for the first and giving the free kick away for the second. His first touch is awful and keeps taking the wrong option. I believe he's nearly 23 now and he looks nowhere near good enough for this level. Athleticism and enthusiasm will only take you so far.

Have to say, based on what little I've seen of them both so far I too rate Back higher than Gabriel.

Gabriel had a decent game against Coventry but has looked unconvincing since. Back, whilst not the finished article yet, looks a far better prospect so far.

I think he was one of the only positives from last night. If nobody comes in before the weekend, I’d like to see him and Richardson as the full backs

If we do sign that Reggie Cannon bloke before the weekend, I'd also start with Back on the right and Cannon on the left. Really impressed with what I have seen of him so far.

giving the free kick away for the second.

Agree with most of that but I felt for him with the free kick because as I remember it from last night Yates played him right in the shit.

He did. Gabriel fouling him was a necessity, unlike the Figgy foul that led to their first goal which was dumb af.

This young man has not looked out of place in the first half against Stoke.

Yes, he’s a youngster but I’ve been very impressed with what I’ve seen from him so far.

Was ball watching for the goal and he needs to work on his distribution. OK as a back up but to raw to start a string if games
