Was ball watching for the goal and he needs to work on his distribution. OK as a back up but to raw to start a string if games

Watch it back again, I don't think he was.

Bong was cheating into the middle the whole 2nd half, so Mighten and Cafu were having to cover left back.

When the ball went out wide left, Cafu and Mighten were out there as Bong was inside the box. The ball was played top of the box where Yates had one man marked but the ball went to a 2nd.

So Back had the choice of closing down the man at the top of the box who was receiving the ball or covering the runner bombing down the wing on his right. He did the right thing stopping the man with the ball from having the choice at a shot.

Unfortunately the ball was rolled out wide and smashed in with Yates almost getting over to stop it.

I don't think young Back was at fault.

That's how I saw it too. Thought he did really well today, barring one nutmeg in the first half. Considering he's only 18, we have to happy with his contribution- he's been thrown in at the deep end and he hasn't disgraced himself at all.

Yes, I think young Back has done well so far. He doesn't look sure going forward so he plays it safe and defends well. The central defenders put him in trouble often with slow rolled passes out to him which he then has to hurry to get rid of.

He is much better than Gabriel at closing down wingers so they don't have the option of a cross into his box.

I wonder what is going on with the lad's hair though? Is it just lighter on top, or is he going to have the Bobby Charlton hair soon? If so, Backie Charlton?

His old man is bald isn’t he? Tough at 18 if he is losing it already though. Even I didn’t start going til early 20s

Absolutely was not ball watching. He had to go to the unmarked man at the top of the box. He did the right thing.

To be fair it was a very good team goal…

It was an absolutely fantastic goal. Sure we have no midfield and that helps but the passing, movement and above all incisiveness was prem quality.
Once an attack of that calibre gets to the penalty area it’s in the hands of the gods and I’m not sure you can blame young Fin for that.
I’m just a bit sad that he isn’t getting a chance in a stable set up, this isn’t remotely ideal for a young player and it might harm Him as much as do him good

Sorry but his passing was shocking.

Think it's a bit too soon.

Nice to see teenage academy graduates who have had to be thrown in at the deep end getting loads of support and positive backing from the stands.

I'm surprised how many supporters struggle with the concept of support.

And here's me thinking it was a forum dedicated to viewing our opinions on the internet and not a 'stand'.

You are perfectly entitled to your opinion and people are perfectly entitled to challenge it. A concept you have seemingly failed to grasp yourself.

I know the atmosphere has turned toxic…but you’ve been allowed to express your opinion, and a mod has expressed theirs…it’s not like your posts have been removed or you’ve been booted, so I fail to see what on Earth you’re moaning about.

Actually a post was removed - the one to which I was responding when I was quoted. By the poster. Not me.

Either way, I’ve been a member of forums and groups where mods genuinely do remove posts just because they don’t agree with opinions being expressed…a literal different kettle of fish to challenging opinions. Do posters expect you to not have opinions just because you’re a mod?

It appears that some do.

I think I can speak for the whole moderating team here when I say we post as a poster and we moderate as per forum rules as required.

Not one of us would remove or censor a post because we disagreed with it.

Aye. I’ve been around long enough to know that.

I just don’t understand why some folks need to whinge.

If we removed posts because we disagreed with them you'd only have a couple of thousand to your name!

Maybe it's do do with everything being so bloody shit...as you say.

I don't think I'm alone in saying that we used to view Saturdays as a form of escapism and joy.....and now watching/ listening to Forest feels more like an an act of self sabotage.

Yeah, you’re not wrong there bud.
It literally ruins my weekend, when we’re this bad.
Not the mods fault though. We’re all in the same boat…and it’s taking on water fast.
