European Super League

I know it won't work now for reason you say. It's works in the US because it's been there for as long as I've known. And global brands like the Yankees and Lakers aren't too big for it.

And it's one way big American sports leagues are better than ours.
Crock of shit. Virtually nobody gives a shit about American football and baseball except Americans and Canadians, and we do because they cram their garbage down our throat because we happen to be neighbours.

56 million people outside America watched the last Super Bowl and 20 million of them were Mexican. The NFL has global appeal.

The NFL international series sells out every year - its also super popular in Germany and Spain. The NFL are adding more games and new countries every year.

I go over to America to watch the Lions at least once a season. The NFL gameday experience knocks the football experience we have here out of the park. I admit I am biased because I love the NFL.

EM will be getting a boner about this!
Forest, Olympiakos and Rio Avendi all lining up to join.
Final nails being hammered into English traditional football's coffin.

36 million makes it global? You are aware how many people there are on this planet, right? Yikes.

Anyhow can't stand American football. Canadian football is a more interesting game (albeit with lesser talent) and I can't stand that either.

Was it really 2018 when the Super League tried to happen? I thought it was like 2021.

First iterations back then, the media frenzy about it when clubs announced their breakaeays was last year I think?

Anyone that joins any super league should be removed from their national leagues and European competitions organised by UEFA. They shouldn't be allowed to put any second/ under 21 team in the league structure or allowed to take part in the national cup competitions.

The big 6 often complain about the amount of football matches they play. They cannot expect to have a presence in the league system if they enter any super league.

Subscription packages for sports channels should be required to have separate subscriptions for any super league games so that fans have to make a positive choice to view the live/highlights of the super league and monies from non-super league subscriptions should be ringfenced and prevented from supporting the new league(s) and super league channels.

If the Premier League killed league football as it was, this could bury it.

I know that Marinakis would want to be part of this, but I don't really want the club I have followed for over 50 years to be a part of this.

The very idea of a few big teams dictating a break away so that they can horde more of the games wealth is preposterous and will never catch on. At least not in England because it was the FA’s idea and they’ll be damned of those forriners muscles in on that action.

Same in Germany.

Although I and many millions of other Bundesliga fans would probably be in favour of FC Bayern f***ing off and not coming back.

56m is nothing. That's about a 10th of what watch the FA Cup final in little old England. NFL is NOT a global sport. It an absolute load of shite put on the telly in between the adverts.

If the PL teams want nothing to do with the Super League couldn't they have a meeting and agree that any team that takes part in the European Super League have to resign their membership of the Premier League and (if the EFL let them in) they cannot be relegated back into it from the ESL or be promoted from the EFL to the Prem within say 5 seasons of relegation from the ESL.

I’ve always thought of NFL as an ultra shit version of Rugby and baseball as rounders for blokes.

As for the European Super League, I’d be happy with the bottom of the premier league, as that’s as good as it’ll ever get for the vast majority of teams not already in the premier league!

It’ll happen eventually, the top clubs will all sail off into the sunset with their Qatari/Saudi/American owners and totally forget about the domestic leagues they’ve made their names in.

As long as when they do, they must NEVER be allowed to come back.
