Euro 2024 in Deutschland!

I mean, don’t get me wrong, I could afford to pay that, but I am not convinced I could justify that amount of money for just one football match, regardless of what it is.

I’d shudder to think how much hospitality costs for the Final though 😳
I have no problem paying if I think there value in the product, but €1000 for a padded seat and a vol au vent is liberty taking, I’ve never found it appealing, mind you they’ll be plenty in line waiting to get a UEFA fisting.

Julian Nagelsmann will officially be the new Bundestrainer, and will lead Germany into the Euro 2024 Championship, the DFB has announced.

The 37-year old will be assisted by Sandro Wagner.

I’ve chucked my hat in the proverbial ring and applied for tickets in the ballot for each match in Stuttgart - that’s four games in the Group stages (including the Group Stage match that the Nationalelf will play here) and the single Quarter-Final to be held here.

It’s a completely random ballot, so I might end up with absolutely nothing, but with tickets starting at only €30, well, why not?

I'd go...if I knew my money wasn't going to UEFA* or FIFA.

*If Forest are playing in European competition I can make a begrudging exception.

Livakovic just made a huge error in the Turkey-Croatia game. Opinion waning...........

Spain are currently 1-0 up away at Norway.

As it stands, that would take Spain and Scotland through to Euro 2024 and Haaland and Odegaard won't be there.....

Crazy when you think about it, but then it just goes to show that even if you have 2 world class players, you still might not be any good if the rest of the team is pants.

They have Nyland in goal, who played for Villa in that 5-5. Don't really think the rest of them are any good either.

Wales didn't do much when Unnamed PL Player played for them and was one of the best in the world for a while.

Elanga won't be going either as, like the World Cup just gone, Sweden have messed up another qualifying campaign.

They should stop messing about in IKEA and concentrate on their football.

For those who applied for Euro 24 tickets during the first window today is the day to find out if the application was succesful. Did many people on here apply and more importantly anyone get any tickets?

I applied for a ticket for each game being held in Stuttgart, which was five matches and a quarter-final.

Might get nothing, but fingers are crossed.

Confirmation from UEFA „your ticket application was unsuccessful“.

Despite applying for two tiers of tickets for all five matches in Stuttgart, I didn’t get any. Canvassing opinion from friends who also applied, none of us have been successful, but a colleague who went for the highest tier (€180 a ticket) got two.

It seems that the number of cheaper tickets has been strongly restricted to allow more tickets to be sold at the highest prices, which is disappointing but not entirely unexpected.

Oh, well.

I'm on a couple of other football related forums and FB groups and the amount of people saying their applications were unsuccessful is beyond a joke. I'd say that less than 5% of people seem to have actually got any tickets, presumably the bots the touts are using won the day.........

That seems to be the consensus here also.

Me and the missus submitted identical applications for tickets to three games. Mine was unsuccessful, but hers went through. So, 50% success rate in our case.

Which games did you get?
The final match in group D in Dortmund, 2A v 2B (first knockout round) in Berlin and 1D v 2F (first knockout round) in Leipzig. I assume Germany is in group A (so possibly 2A in the match in Berlin?), but apart from that we have no idea what teams we are going to see. Hoping for Germany v France in Berlin!

That's a decent haul, congrats.

Believe me, you've done way better than average there. If Engurland are in any of those matches I may see you out there.

If you don’t mind me asking, what level of tickets did you apply for? The „fan friendly“ prices, or one of the higher ones?

We went for the pricier ones. 150 euros a piece for the group stage and 175 for the knockout stage games.

Ahhh… that then explains your relative success. I have yet to speak or hear from anyone round my neck of the woods who managed to get a ticket on one of the cheaper tiers; it is almost as if these were mere lip-service and UEFA instead allocated far more tickets to the more expensive options.

Of course, I am not suggesting for one minute they would do such a thing…..🙄

Having applied for tickets to ICC events and the Olympics that had a similar ticket buying options, I share your pain.

There were many disgruntled cricket fans seeing lots of empty cheap seats at the 2019 cricket world cup when those were the seats they had applied and failed to get!

Is there a further stage where tickets can be returned?

From memory, UEFA said there might be a second window in January, where tickets which had been allocated in the ballot - but not purchased - would then be released for re-sale.

If that‘s the case, I might take a punt then.

Although I (perhaps greedily) applied for all five matches in Stuttgart (including the one the Nationalelf will play here) I would have been happy with one match, any one would have done, just to say that I‘d been to watch a game at what will be my „home“ venue in the Championship.

It does seem sad that (not for the first time…) the competition is simply bilking the highest amount of revenue possible, per seat.

I am also saddened to see - already - adverts popping up for „hospitality“ packages with a guaranteed match ticket, but as they start at €1.200 they can f*** right off. It isn‘t that I couldn‘t afford it (I could) but that I object forcefully to being financially exploited like that.

But then, that‘s modern football all over, isn‘t it?

France beat Gibraltar 14-0 tonight. Gibraltar's goals for and against in the group: 0 scored. 35 conceded.

Are Gibraltar a genuine competitor to being the worst International team in the world ahead of San Marino? At least San Marino are scoring goals recently. Last 2 games: San Marino 1-2 Denmark. Kazakhstan 3-1 San Marino.

San Marino's goals for and against in the group: 2 scored. 29 conceded.
