But they're only after and tell the "truth" apparently

What grates the most is that they'll likely be chatting with agents, with agents trying to use the media to help engineer moves for these players too.

Agents get rich, press get there story, we lose good players and get right royally f**ked up the arse in the process.

Yet for some reason the likes of Taylor & co are hailed as heroes by some.

Utterly bizare.

Re: Eric Lichaj appreciation thread.

Lichajs a rare breed at Forest, 120 odd games in the last 3 seasons whilst maintaining a consistently good standard of football throughout.

Forest through & through, versatile & selfless in those left back display & sets a standard of committment. Id be happy for right back cover, but genuinely can't see owt in Taverniers CV that suggests he takes Erics shirt.

Warburtons the boss though, maybe he wants width from the full backs & sees that as a weakness in Lichajs games.

They are awful, If anyone knows of a competitor then I will willingly support them.

From Warburton's POV, he may just be looking for cover & have a plan for both in mind. :dunno:

Tavernier may just bring qualities to the side which he wants here and which few others have. Not to mention be available at a decent price.

Eric when solidity is needed, Tavernier when a more attacking approach is needed. :dunno:

Or as left back cover as well when Traore, Pinillos and Cohen are all on the treatment table.

Slight muscle pull I believe. Max 2 weeks out was it?

Yes. Should be back after the international break.

Re: Eric Lichaj appreciation thread.

Just doesn't add up for me. Warburton wants to trim the squad, so the first player out the door is a guy who rarely gets injured, is 100% committed and can play multiple positions usually to a 7/10 standard.

Some of the comments I have read on twitter frankly make me questions whether some of those are a) forest fans b) if they are, have they ever been to a game in the last decade.

Not saying Lichaj is perfect, he struggles against a few of the more skillful wingers in the league and he isn't the best in an attacking sense but he would be near the bottom of the list of players who need moving on.

The NP should have gone under years ago. A joke of a paper. One sided minority bullshit. Even Eric's wife is on twitter having a pop at them. No story. No truth in it.

Re: Eric Lichaj appreciation thread.

What a fantastically unbalanced shitbox of an article.

Always 100% effort from Eric whenever I've seen him play. Given our recent issues with lack of heart and commitment from a large portion of the squad it would be madness to let him go.

... Since when was Twitter a barometer or the basis for an article of any description? ...
I think you will find that all the most knowledgeable, sensible, least reactionary and above all most patient of Forest supporters are using twitter as a means of educating us all.

Ignore most of the dickheads on Twatter as they speak pretty much BS all the time! I'd take most comments with a pinch of salt from our so called 'fans'!

Re: Eric Lichaj appreciation thread.

There are a quite a few names that should be on the ship out list ahead of Lichaj. Perhaps not the greatest right back ever to don the Garibaldi but my god we've had worse (Jara, anyone?), can't see what he's done to justify us getting rid, the man's an asset to the team and always puts in a shift

PS. Perhaps more importantly if he goes Lichaj of the Tiger will have to change his username, and that is a quality name I'd hate to see this forum lose

Re: Eric Lichaj appreciation thread.

If Paul Taylor had any input in cobbling together that 'piece', he should be ashamed of himself.

Irrespective of the fact that social media hadn't been conceived, his far-more-illustrious (Forest correspondent) predecessors like Harry Richards, David Stapleton, John Lawson and Duncan Hamilton would have never been responsible for, or allowed themselves to be associated with, such a crass example of so-called journalism.

Re: Eric Lichaj appreciation thread.

All about what Warburton wants and whether Lichaj can adapt to his style of football. He doesn't move the ball around very quickly let the ball do the talking, which as we saw in the first half against Derby is vital for us.

Would be a top League 1 right back if we went down though, you would think.

Get the feeling Warburton likes killer wide partnerships, which Lichaj hasn't been able to strike up with any of our wingers down the years really.

As a free transfer, he's been great and a top servant. I just wonder if he's the footballing pass-and-move proactive full-back this regime would want.

Re: Eric Lichaj appreciation thread.

When all said & done we aint really got a leg to stand on when it comes to defending most of our players. Given we've regressed every year & the best justification we can come up with is their work rate & committment.

Are any of our players being held back by the rest? Probably not. The best we have is mid to lower Championship standard, so Brereton & Clough aside, its open season on our current squad if we want to progress into something decent.
