Re: Eric Lichaj appreciation thread.

You are quite right, but Eric has been a loyal servant for 5 years or so, and I believe that loyalty counts for a fair amount.

Indeed. We're now alright at flogging our crown jewels for ok money, but making a profit on 'jobbing' players still seems an alien concept.

We still seem to be in the habit of paying off unwanted but once promising squad players, rather than selling for a return. Hopefully this is just a hangover from the Fawaz era crazy wage packet problem, and we'll find out of favour players easier to shift in the future.

Absolutely FCT. Whilst I love Eric as a person and I like him as a player, I have no qualms with selling a 7/10 'does a job' full back to be replaced by another younger 6/10-8/10 'does a job' full back if its in the interest of making the football club a success.

Turning over these kind of players for a profit and replacing them with equal or better quality players for less money whilst making sure we do right by everyone (read: Cohen, Hobbs, Fuentes) is a sign of a really well run club with a clear structure. I'd like my club to be one of those clubs/

It's all about mid-table...
Re: Eric Lichaj appreciation thread.

He wa ok, but sums up NFFC for near on two decades, a club just going through the motion of doldrums. He did give is all though but a limited player who comes and goes like hundreds before him.

He was out of contract this summer until he signed a new deal last season. At least that means we will get a fee for him.

Eric Lichaj appreciation thread.

A) I hope we get a fee for him
B) I hope we sign a better right-back than Darikwa. Moses Odubajo please.
C) Wish Eric well. Will give him a round of applause when he comes back. Always tried his best.

Hes been a lot better than most that have come through here in recent times, would keep him around for his versatility and consistency, but if he wants First Team Football, im happy for him to go, unlike hundreds who have gone before him, he will be remembered fondly by the Fans and given a warm welcome whenever he returns

Sad to see him go. People say he's limited but there's space for limited players in a promotion push. Gave his all for us, wouldn't have been on much money.

Good luck eric

forest should try for dominic iorfs, someone who was able to match antonio for physicality and pace and kept him quiet. not wanted at wolves, spend last year on loan at ipswich still only 22.

Will miss lichaj if he leaves, but alas he probably didnt want to be a backup. Fair play, deserves to be a starter for a mid table side in this division.

A good character, good solid player and has been, for me, a bright spot amongst some pretty gloomy moments.

I wish him well.

From my side. Not a bad word to say. If only all players gave the effort he gave whether they were more talented or not.

Wish him all the best.

Possible deal around Lichaj & Max Clark afoot?

You would think so.

We probably also have our right-back lined up which is intriguing as no real links as of yet.

I bet Kirkby suffers a recession if Eric leaves. The local butchers will be in mourning I would think.

The only one I've seen linked is Martin Kelly, it was ages ago and I still can't remember where I read it.
