No, anal. :) he said Pearce should have gone within 6 months. So at the most Freedman gets 6 months from the start if next season.

Ah. Well, I think you'll find his 6 months criteria has changed now. You know, reasons, excuses, allowances, that sort of thing.

Nothing like being consistent.

The next 3 games are must win in terms of preserving our Championship status I agree and we may get them on morale-boosting honeymoon period alone. But I do believe it's difficult to truly judge a manager until they've had a pre-season and brought in at least a couple of their own players.

If he doesnt take maximum points in the next 3 games relegation is a strong possibility. You and people of your ilk have stated this as a requirement of the previous man so nothing has changed... So if we dont get the points required the pre season you are prepared to give him will be in league 1.

I'm thinking this blokes from the Fawaz's publicity department, it's far too much like the last time when Fawaz sacked SOD and appointed McCleish.

Not ignoring me are you. You've trotted out the club's line like a good little boy, tried your best, done your job.

Who Fawaz?
For me, that would be mental. Despite the claims that will be made, there aren't many who would sink money into Forest. The only others interested were a consortium with Marthur FFS.

Wouldn't be such a bad thing, hard times ahead, but maybe better in the long run.

I think it would be a nightmare unless there was an agreed takeover.
When Doughty left we were teetering on the edge for a long while.

Ultimately I think you will get your wish as I wouldn't be surprised if Fawaz has an exit strategy lined up for the next 12 to 18 months. As a businessman I doubt he will want to throw good money after bad for ever more.

I think he's hoping he'll stumble upon a manager who does enough to yoke us up. It's pot luck.

Our best formation will be 4-3-3. Pearce never used it. Tempted to try Mancienne at LB he is good enough to play there. was strange how Pearce said we needed a player with arrogance on the pitch yet we had Abdoun sat at home.

De Vries
Lichaj Hobbs Wilson Mancienne
Lansbury Vaughan Osborn
Antonio Assombalonga Abdoun

Triple A ... worth a shot! (if Abdoun's been kicking a ball around out back at all)

I think he quoted himself so that AO would see it even if he has sedge on ignore.

Thanks Zoe, I seriously don't think this blokes playing fair. It's someone trying to manipulate the situation, on behalf of the club. Sad but I suppose he gets paid to do it.

I feel sorry for the guy already. When he came to the club as a player he was brought in along with Shipperley to replace PVH and Campbell. He was disliked by the fans before he'd kicked a ball. Despite this he wasn't a disaster as a player for us nor did he pull up any trees. We've had much worse strikers since.

Now he's coming in as manager to replace Pearce, who a big percentage of the fan base would have tolerated relegation from due to his previous legendary status as a player. Unless he immediately delivers an upturn in results he'll get slaughtered. If fact he already is before a ball has even been kicked.

I think people are forgetting how well he did at Palace, certainly for the first 6 months when in charge of them. Nobody could beat them. Plus he is ex Forest so has a connection to the club. Yes he didn't do brilliantly well with Bolton, but maybe that job was too much to soon.

Plus if Physco does accept the advisory role, at least the club will be run well in the background whilst Dougie focuses on the first team.

This might not be a bad thing.

Well I'll be giving Dougie my support, but not particularly enamoured with his appointment based on his past record

Seeing as people on here (and Freedman himself) were telling everyone we have the best squad in the Championship, that people like you were saying that the problem was only that we didn't have a decent manager and that it doesn't take long for a manager to impart his style and turn us round I don't see why there shouldn't be an expectation of an instant upturn.

New manager bounce should become a sustained run and given everyone's belief that all this top 2 squad needed was a decent manager then there is no reason why a playoff push is not achievable.

Unless people are making excuses already that is.

After taking it all in, his managerial record hasn't been too bad, guided Palace to 3rd when he left, took Bolton from near the bottom to just miss out on a PO place in his 1st season.

It's only this season that puts a blip on his record so far.
