Gutted about Pearce.

I'll back Freedman though, will the people that were calling for Pearce to go? How long will you give him, 3 games?

He seems to be cut from the same cloth as Pearce IMO in terms of style of football and approach, but we can only hope for the best.

Crucial that the City Ground doesn't turn into a poisonous atmosphere now, have to get enough points to take us away from the relegation zone.

He needs a good start. What if he has a bad first month, what then? We'll be about 19th and the anti-Pearce clan will suddenly turn and say, "Pearce had us in 12th ffs."

Pearce built decent foundations in a small amount of time, hopefully Freedman can carry the can, and I hope he gets the chance.

He's previously said we've got a quality squad because of all the money we've spent, now all the quality is at his disposal.

Good luck.

Has anyone checked on Wes Organ? I'm a bit concerned now.

Someone pop round and see if he's ok. And be sure to remove any sharp objects from the premises.

You really are pleased with yourself, you've come across as smug all night, so now your switching to rubbing another's face in your celebrations. I bet your not a nice person to know.

There should be an unspoken rule that clubs don't appoint their legends. Just don't do it, it's not worth it. Barring a miracle it's only ever gonna end badly and end up hurting fans

As much as its a bitter pill I hope people get behind Freedman and the team.
If we don't we could be on a rapid decline into the bottom 3 and ultimately relegation.
Going to be a tough few weeks.

Bunch of little kids arguing. I swear that's all I am reminded of on this forum for the past many hours. Just calm down and support the manager. We all knew this was gonna happen.

I'm just pleased that the team might start performing better. That's all I'm interested in.

At last. Some sense from Stockton, 'cough', California.

It would have happened two weeks ago if Ben Osborn hadn't decided to show some flair.

No, I'm describing the situation exactly as it is.
The situation is exactly the same as it was 24 hours ago except you got what you wanted and we now have a different manager and you are already making excuses and judging him by different criteria.

Where's the consistency you called for?

The criteria to judge him for the next 3 months is different though to the criteria in judging someone who comes in June and has a whole pre-season. Surely you can see that?

We did that with you and you are STILL f***ing HERE.

I can see someone twisting away and avoiding the point.

So if we're not looking like promotion candidates or mid table next January, you'd get rid?

I can see someone twisting away and avoiding the point.

So can I.

I know you're pushing the agenda of Freedman being judged over the next 3 months but to take over halfway through a disastrous season is a little different to taking over a fresh squad in summer all nicely coming back to fitness and able to splash £9m to bolster it further. If you can't make the distinction then there's little point carrying this on.

All depends, there's no hard and fast ruling is there? The amount of variables involved are infinite.

A really big factor in my not liking Pearce as manager was the style of football. If Freedman improves that then that's a good start.

Nope like pearce the next three games are must win. This has not changed for the new bloke or are you accepting we have replaced a bloke who you are happy to take us down?

Me?

I want him to do well. And I'm prepared to give him the time to get things right. Behind scenes stuff is already part way there, although I'm not sure what effect tonight's events will have on that.

If he can improve us on the pitch and at the same time keep the work in the Academy going so that we can have a brighter future then he'll have as long as he needs from me.

Unfortunately there are others that will want him gone by Christmas if he doesn't have us 15 points clear at the top.

Everyone judged Brazil to be a poor manager in 3 months.

And I'm referring to your 6 month criteria, I've never said 3, but don't let that stop you talking more bollocks.

No, anal. :) he said Pearce should have gone within 6 months. So at the most Freedman gets 6 months from the start if next season.

The next 3 games are must win in terms of preserving our Championship status I agree and we may get them on morale-boosting honeymoon period alone. But I do believe it's difficult to truly judge a manager until they've had a pre-season and brought in at least a couple of their own players.
