Douglas Alan „Dougie“ Freedman

When he left Palace they were in 4th position in the Champ, and they got promoted that season. Obviously put together a decent team, although they relied on Zaha a lot

Dougie's remit from Fawaz is that if he doesn't get 9 points out the next 2 games he's sacked.

Please join me in giving a very warm welcome to Dougie Freedman, who takes over immediately. Welcome back and all the best. #nffc

I'm in shock that Sir Dougie would waste his time coming to dirty money Forest. As he made well clear at Bolton he doesn't find Fawaz's spending very fair on the other teams of this league.

Well don't worry Dougs he won't be spending a penny on you mate.

An incredibly average second tier football team sacks a below-average football manager because of a long run of terrible results and poor performances.....and then hire another slightly better very average football manager.

That, my friends is the reality that you all need to bloody realise.

Now suck it up, grow up and lets see how he does, and lets face it, as it stands after losing at home to a shocking side with a abysmal performance - it couldnt have got much worse.

Where's me hammer?
Underwhelming but he gets a clean slate, just like Pearce, just like all the others. Hopefully he can turn us around.

Interesting to see some of the loudest advocates of giving Pearce time and giving him a fair shot are already slagging off the new man. Confirms everything I suspected basically.

Will you be at the brighton game or are you exactly as half the forum suspected?

I went to watch something for a bit, didn't expect us to already have appointed a new manager.

I'm actually speechless..

To be brutally honest as a Palace-fan colleague told me at the time, they were a one-man team.

Their main tactic (in the words of my mate) was "give it to Wilf!"

f*** off Freedman you f***ing snake, he's had the job for weeks

This is my issue. Who can know how long. And it is football now. Not sure I'd really blame Freedman. Its the way it works, and he didn't even play with Pearce.

But football is really shit sometimes. Pearce deserves way better than that. Fawaz may have feared another Gary Brazil situation, but he's shafted just about the last person you'd want to see a Forest own shaft.

I feel nothing, absolutely nothing for this appointment.
I actually think Fawaz will go should Freedman fail.
And he will.

Was he still in charge when we played them at their place that season? Palace were fantastic that game.

When I spoke to John McGovern last Thursday he said he hoped Pearce would be given until the end of the season.
I am certain he had no idea about this.

An underwhelming appointment that speaks uncomfortably about what goes on behind the scenes at our club. Darchelles were sold against SP's wishes, and it shows the real manager is Fawaz - the guy with the coaching badges is a figurehead that shoulders the pressure and takes the fall.

Can we turn a corner and pick up results? I hope so. It depends what the new 'manager' can get out of our contracted players!
