Maybe Fawaz is learning. A more realistic contract. If he does well maybe it will be renewed.

More likely Freedman is giving himself an out, and using us to rebuild his stock.

If he gets a small upturn in form going, he can tell everyone about what a good job he has done and then inevitably pick another job in the summer where the chairman is less mental.

If I were Fawaz I'd be speaking to potential summer replacements in the meantime.

And then telling Emad about it.

We're going to start announcing them in twos, like FIFA did with the World Cups. Then if we run out of reasons why Russia is a disaster choice, we can kick off on Qatar.

I think there was a genuine fear Pearce would take us down. Freedman to keep us up, then someone like Petrescu for the future. At a guess.

Where's the guarantee this guy is gonna keep us up/not make things any worse? What happens when he has a bad run? Or the precious Forest players decide they don't want to play for him either?

Manager pairs are good.
There's still time to get Charlie and Frank.

I always wonder how much these people are on. Anyone any idea what a standard wage is for championship assistant manager? To be honest I've no idea how much the managers get paid.

My guess is £125k/150k

Paul Jewell was reportedly on £250 forhis shortlived Asst Manager to Pulis at WBA.

24 hours on and whilst he's not the name anyone would have picked, he's the one we've got and we've just got to try and make the best of it.

If he does well and results improve then he'll have earned his right to stay on.

We've just got to try and stay positive - if we all start to think things are over then they're half way to being over

Danny Taylor (guardian) tweets that Dougie's contract is only until end of the season

I'd been wandering about th elength of his contract. I think the above makes good sense. Dougie gets to show if he's up to it; Fawaz gets to test out the goods. Sacking/replacing Pearce at the point of the season didn't make sense to me unless it was for a new manager on a contract until only the end of the season.

Dougie had Palace up to second place in the league and he left to take on a tricky job at shitty Bolton, strange decision.
Hope he`s not nuts.

Didn't want to think of us being stuck with him next season if he'd been wank so glad he's effectively on a trial...but that would mean yet another bloody manager!!

Well some Bolton fans have said of him that he seems to rearrange the team willy nilly and use incomprehensible tactics that don't work so there should be some continuity in style if true.

Sacking Stuart Pearce has now led to 5 more of our coaching staff leaving. How can this be good for our club? I reckon Fawaz has signed our death warrant.

There's no limbo period and it didn't get out prior to Pearce leaving, so I reckon he's due some credit there to be fair.

How could it get out? No-one else knew about it...

Understandable for some of them, but why the physio ?

That's put Reid's progress back another 4 weeks.

If I were Fawaz I'd be speaking to potential summer replacements in the meantime.

Don't be so melodramatic.

It's not exactly good news but staff can be replaced. I'd be more worried if were selling off players, but we're not... yet.

Apparently he promised more money to spend, it never happened. Alan Nixon really rates him as a manager, and claims faltering at Bolton was down to the club hierarchy screwing him over over transfers.

Alan Nixon also highly rates Stuart Gray, the Sheffield Wednesday manager. Go figure.

If these were cashiers in a supermarket it wouldn't be too difficult. But these are all of our coaching team. Can Freedman go out and find 5 replacements overnight. Time isn't his side or our club.

Don't see why not, plenty of coaches out there.

Maybe not overnight but we should be able to fill those roles pretty quickly.

So he likes being able to spend money in the transfer market then............?
