Does anyone remember League 1 Derby County? (STILL the worst team in history!)

And I will say it again: Who the hell is really going to want to play for that joke of a club, new owner notwithstanding? Can offer nothing but garbage wages, your teammates are horseshit, and it will take an effort of God like proportions just to steer clear of relegation. I shudder to see the kind of player willing to deal with all that and more.

So multi millionaire Wayne Rooney, or his agent, lent Derby £1.5m to cover players wages.

All above board and legit. No questions to answer.

Yet had Derby accepted the offers they received for the likes of Buchannan and Lawrence in January they could not only have avoided having to go cap in hand to their multi millionaire manager & agent but also perhaps paid back some of the money they owe to HMRC and lots of local businesses.

Now I am not a financial expert but it seems to me that administration is a strange old business when it means you not only don't have to pay your debts but also make no attempt to whilst you continue to borrow money from one of your employees to pay, presumably, his wages amongst others.

Strange old World.

How can a dormant company - one not trading or doing anything - lose money?

And the liabilities of that company total over £93m (some of that to MSD) and if Clowes has bough that company, then maybe he now has that liability?

This isn’t good.

When you Google them they seem to come up with various similar names. Linked to Mel Morris

Yeah, I've just seen that! But surely if this Clownes guy has bought the stadium the asset will be his and the cash will be in their current assets... Unless it's a debtor and they haven't actually paid for it yet!

What a mess!

The new guy who is trying to buy DC, is his name Clowes pronounced to rhyme with "Ploughs" or to rhyme with "Flows"?

Or another way I haven't even thought of?

I thought it was Clowes as in ploughs. Like flagman said about the trade warehouse on castle Blvd years ago

Ploughs, I had to speak to them a few years back and the receptionist gave me a bollocking for pronouncing it like flows…
