Does anyone remember League 1 Derby County? (STILL the worst team in history!)

Almost certainly. He's going to want to move the club on ASAP when it is more stable and the embargo is over next year.
Easier said than done unless happy to wipe off millions. Like MM, Clowes will want to come out losing as little as possible. Also worth considering any agreed CVA ties them up for 2/3 years. Doubt anyone will come in to buy with that ongoing.

Good. Hope the bastard rots without a club. Doesn't even deserve to play for Derby on an embargo contract.

Unfortunately some club without morals will probably chuck a sack of money at him though.
Sheffield United flare sent up. 🎆

Well, the good news for the sheep fans is that as things stand with their squad, if the club does survive into next season, any supporter taking his boots to a game stands a decent chance of a place on the bench, at least?

Their first friendly is a week tomorrow. They might need to play rush goalie. :)
They’ll probably have to downgrade it to Five-a-side and move it to Powerleague 😂

A fine suggestion but Powerleague usually want to be paid in advance of unlocking the pitch.

Much as that would amuse me, I think Clowes is in too deep, with owning the stadium, to turn back now - even when he’s having his pants pulled down.

He could always sell it to a property developer if the deal falls through and make a tidy profit.

Oh.... wait a minute....

They’ve just converted to Derby’s Powerleague to paddle tennis

Maybe they should just switch sports
Even Davis Cup squads need five...

So let's look at the facts:

- The only person willing to pay enough money to get them out of administration wanted to pay with monopoly money.
- The other interested parties only want to pay 50p for the club.
- The ground has been purchased by a property developer.

Yeah, everything is on track...

Don't you dare start dealing in facts.

As we sit around waiting for the mess to be sorted. I wonder now if Mel would have been better to have gone into Admin 6 months earlier? No claims from Boro and Wycombe , and Wayne could have had us back up this season and made the club a lot more attractive to purchasers. Hindsight and all that

This comes across as, if we'd screwed people over earlier maybe we would have got away with it.

Maybe the club would have been more attractive to buyers had they not robbed the taxman of £36m, propped up the club with £24m of loans from MSD and refused to sell players to balance the books? Crazy, I know...

The debts wouldn't have gone away though magically.

They still wouldn't have owned the stadium.

They would have spent a year in L1 trying to be sold rather than the Champ. (and they couldn't sell them in the Champ!)

And they assume they would have just come back up again - I assume in this scinoario all the better players they had would all be happy to stay then rather than wanting away?

The very rare time I have a fit of conscience towards Derby’s plight I just remind myself they owed/stiffed St John’s Ambulance for £9000, a life saving charity.

I find it hard to believe they couldn’t find that money to keep it off the published P&L and end of year accounts…….and make the issue go away.

Bit disappointed you didn’t ask for my help Grenville, either with the design or using my artwork,

look at this golf scene, you can almost smell the grass. 🤨View attachment 14534

Sorry about that bonfire... your artwork obviously omitted in proofing. Now corrected.

A range of merchandise has also been prepared incorporating your CK artwork concept...
