Does anyone remember League 1 Derby County? (STILL the worst team in history!)

Another nice lucrative payday with little scrutiny (at least here in the UK) for Rooney. Much better for him than taking another Championship job and being found out.
So true, seems he wants to go his whole career just taking jobs that it's impossible to fail in.

MLS is his dream, you can finish bottom and be seen as a god. Didn't someone suggest Derby should join the MLS if they got liquidated? They got that perfect mentality.

His apprenticeship was Derby, why is he taking another apprenticeship in the MLS.

Easy street isn't it? No one outside of the USA cares about the MLS, so he can get a lucrative pay off and walk away with minimal damage to his reputation when he inevitably gets sacked.

You don't get sacked from the MLS, unless you are spectacularly incompetent.

Even Phil Neville is managing to hold down a job over there.

Even better for him; the money will just keep rolling in.

Any manager with ambition would choose the Championship or Premier League over the MLS, but failing in his next job could put an end to the gravy train. As you say, the MLS is perfect for him.

I can see him getting sacked sooner rather than later unless he is a miracle worker. I love the MLS but am also realistic about its standard right now. D.C. United is horse shit even for MLS standards.

I do kind of regret that deal not getting over the line!

Does this add fuel to the fire around them lot getting money via a 2rd party to pay wages, technically bypassing creditors?

Eyup that kind of logic in recent times would have resulted in you being on ze list 🙂

Derby hoping a real tax cutter gets o be Tory leader and PM.
Mel is obviously pulling the strings with the Party so as to get the right man in, and to get the £41m tax debt annulled.
How come Derby are being allowed to take on new players, paying them salaries, before they have settled the tax debt, never mind paying off Arsenal and the Polish club the outstanding balances on previus seasons' acquisitions.
It makes no sense to me!

I see they signed Scott Loach, just so they know he hasn’t played professional football for 6 years and is a Forest fan.

He hasn't played League football for 6 years, but surely his stints at Hartlepool, Barnet and Chesterfield were as a pro?
