Demise of Everton

Forgive me for liking your post Erik if it was sarcasm (and I only say that because of the Steve Bruce posts!) but Dyche is a great manager for the position they are in and they'll be more than fine with him in charge

Wouldn't swap him for Cooper though, before anyone starts!
I was serious. They have a very good manager.

Granted - he's no Steve Bruce, but then, not everyone is.

I suspect the reason he's been out of work this past year or so is chairmen are just so in awe of him they dare not approach him about managerial jobs

Same reason Billy Davies been out of work for a decade.

Bit like when us mere mortals don't get a job before the employer thinks we're overqualified.

Everton could be on to pass derbys point record 4 times this season depending on how true various rumours are!
another points deduction looming for ffp and they could go into administration next month!

id love it to be timed perfectly!
oh and if they actually went down that’d be grand too!

Joking aside I’ve been impressed with how Everton have clawed their way out the bottom 3.
Unless they have an injury crisis they will be well clear. They were going toe to toe with City for large spells but 2 class goals undid them.

Put them in a fanciful 50/1 bet, they were the only side to let me down. Bit annoying after going a goal up.

When you look at their latest accounts, posting 3 year losses of £230m (ish), then you realise how f**ked they actually are.

A lot of talk on Twitter about them getting more points deducted on 8th April.
Do they have another panel outcome next week then?

Yes, from the Commission held last week.

Their Commision completed last Wednesday. By previous releases, its been 1 day after the 7 it mentions in the rules. That would be this Thursday, but Bank Holiday could knock on 2 days, which would be Monday 8th.

If going into administration hadn't put a glass ceiling of 9 points, they'd be looking at a Derby points total.

It's a weird false equivalence by the Panel of -9 for each as in the Football League, it is -12 for each but thereafter it can rise to 21 with Aggravating Factors and no mitigation to offset.

It's like the Panels are plucking Rulings and Numbers from the air. The Clubs themselves have a portion of blame for not voting in a Points Tariff or some sort unlike Championship clubs in 2018 to r
provide some clarity albeit that isn't binding on a Commission but it is a lot clearer at least.

Thanks.

So looking very likely that they will be hit with more points deducted.

It's all a load of carp, how can you have a limit set a decade ago and not take inflation into account (inflation for football is probably running at 300%)

Just on that point alone, all these PSR cases should be thrown out of the window.

There was talk about other authorities getting involved in looking into whats happened there (such as a full HMRC Audit and Financial Crimes), but, I've seen Kieran Maguire say that there are serious concerns about whether or not the club will be solvent and able to proceed as a going concern at the end of the season.
