Can't believe we're going to be bought by apple, this is amazing
No Milky, you are amazing!

Braeburn or Gala?

You could ask him?
We dont know though. Doughty said he wouldnt sell the club to anyone who didnt have the clubs best intentions at heart.
We dont know what his family/estates feelings are on this- so i wouldnt just assume they'll take the first, biggest, or only offers.
For all we know they could be committed to making sure the club is taken care of properly.
We have no idea what thier priorities are.
My personal thoughts are id be amazed if his family chose to ignore all the work, effort, money, time and love he poured into the club- purely to just sack it off
Ah but you have 2 big assumptions at the heart of your argument:
1 That it is the family making the decisions - I wonder if that is true.
They have just lost their loved relative and are still in mourning, and also an Estate as sizable and complex as ND's would be probably beyond the grasp of ordinary people, so will be in the hands of hard-headed business people.
2 That the family share Nigel's passion for Forest... after all the vilification being the owner bought Nigel I am not sure they family will feel that sentimental about it.
I hope sincerely your assumptions are born out in the end - this is one time I want to be able to say " I was soooo wrong"

yes, because that always goes smoothly... Cough, liverpool, man united, derby...
Let's see if flavio briatore is interested. He seemed to sack a manager every other week, would keep the fans happy :nowink:
Ah no, see thats why i said "for all we know"
Im not sure how much influence his family has (though i dont see why they wouldnt have most if not full control), nor do i know how much of his passion they shared for forest.
My point is, thats just as likely as your scenario that they just want shot of the club.
Theres no real evidence so far either way, so all we can do is speculate.
I just dont think people who loved doughty as much as his family did would choose to honour him, by screwing over something he obviously put so much into.
If that makes sense,
Perfect sense - I would just like for all the uncertainty to be over... I've supported this Club, man and boy for over 50 years and I am simply gutted to see us a) struggling at the wrong end of Division 2 (sorry, I will never accept this Premiership/Championship as anything other than marketing hype!!) and b) in such dire straits financially..
ToN Sport | 12th March said:Crisis written club Sir Nottingham Forest FC receiving first takeover bid since the death of their emperor Nigel Doughty at his home in Yorkshire.
The English club FC, two times winners of the Euro trophy under former emporer Brian Clough, are estimated to have a debt of NGN17,309,150,000. The club play their football at the Forest ground which can hold up to 25,000 fans and have the nickname The Red Devils.
Sir Nottingham Forest FC have currently won their most recent game against rioting friendly Millwall City, but find still themselves boiled into a relegation battle, hoping to avoid the conquest of League One football.
Sir Nottingham Forest FC have been requested to remain the deal secret whilst in financial negotiations, but the Times of Nigeria can reports that potential buyers are involved in the oil and exporting business and have an combined estimated fortune to rival that of the new queen of England; Cheryl Cole. The buyers would only however be interested in Sir Nottingham Forest FC if the club FC can retain top flight status, something that may become apparent when Sir NFFC Club play host to Derby in their forthcoming friendly match tomorrow night.
ToN confirm the bid will remain inactivity for 30 days until transpiration upon when a negotiator will be required to release the fugitives. Sir Nottingham Forest FC have not been available for comment on this breaking news story.
