My photos (first batch) are here.  I'll add the rest there when I get a chance.

Currently uploading the video we recorded of the unveiling itself which I'll add to the LTLF blog when YouTube has processed it :)

All my photo are online. I'm too stupid to embed videos on the LTLF blog so I'm awaiting Alex to do it :D

OK - short term, until I can get the better quality ones up to LTLF towers, my quick pic set from the Statue unveiling can be found here. If you need/want to add me to see 'em more easily, feel free to do so - let me know your LTLF pseudonym or i may ignore you, fearing you're a stalker.

More to follow, i'm just horribly tied up with work and social things until about Sunday, but I took about 130 pics today, some poor, some fair, some rather good if I say so myself...

Aww!

Really good pictures - the likeness is very very good and much better than the initial trial pictures projected. Pleased with that and glad I contributed toward it. FOREST TIL I DIE.

I have to say, as the sheet was pulled off the statue, and the true splendour of the likeness was revealed, I will confess (in a public place) to wiping a tear away from my eye.

The sounds of that bloody great big lunchtime crowd singing Cloughie's name was enough to send a shiver down even the coldest-hearted person's spine.

If you couldn't make it in person, I hope the pictures do it justice.

If I were Les Johnson, I'd quit now, because you're never going to do a better, more lifelike, more 'alive' sculpture than that one - it's absolutely brilliant! Congratulations, and thanks, to everyone involved.

Potentially stupid/lazy question...

Does anyone which photo it is based on (was it even based on a specific picture)?

I think the photo is based on something he did after the '91 FA Cup Final.

When Cloughie turns to applaud the supporters, he clasps his hands together, like the statue is.

He did indeed do that when heading to the tunnel after the 91 FA Cup Final. Although I doubt he was smiling as he is on the statue.

I imagine he repeated the gesture at any number of the League Cup/Simod Cup/Zenith Data Systems cup finals.

lol

No.  He was wearing regular trouser with a shirt and tie, and then a bizarre shiny 'milk tray man' jacket.

Unusual as usually CC is one for dressing smartly (as he did at Shite Park, whilst his Scouse counterpart looked like a binman).

Just spoke to my Dad.

Apparently, he was there yesterday!

He travelled up to see my Grandparents because they both had a fall on a bus last week and before he came home, he nipped into Nottingham for the unveiling.

He also said that he is going to try and get me a statue if at all possible.

Great man.

They're about 1/16th-1/18th in scale - 6 inches is the quoted figure. So pretty small.

I imagine there'll be some left still, last time I saw reference to order numbers they were into the 100's... they are making 1,000 statues.
