Chris Hughton speaking with Andre Ayew on their Ghanaian meetup.

"So Andre, just how does Steve Cooper manage to do it?"

"I could tell you Chris, but I'd have to kill you. Let's just say, he's magic"

Chris Hughton doing Chris Hughton things. I am not an expert on African football but for Ghana to have an unconvincing win over Madagascar and then to lose to Comoros sounds pretty terrible.

Forest are magic on and off the pitch!

Ghana look a mess. Ayew brothers starting who are well past their best. Andre more so.

It's a far cry from that Ghana team of 2010 which could have made the semi-finals of the World Cup, if Luis Suarez hadn't handled the ball on the line.

Hughton dropping Kudus in favour of Ayew in trying to get himself sacked again.

I absolutely despise the man. There's been a lot of Forest managers I've really really disliked but I think Hughton tops the lot. Will never forgive him for his Boro pre-match interview where he said the team wasn't good enough to survive.

f***ing ****.

That interview needs to be archived, given that simply a new manager got the same players in line for play off contention, and a couple of shrewd additions in the next window such as Kienan Davis and Sam Surridge got them over the line.

I think Chris is a nice guy who has a good track record at least before joining us, and who did his best for us too, we had a difficult season when he was in charge with covid restrictions and who knows what other protocols they had to do whilst training and on matchdays as well as no fans being allowed in (which is always an advantage for us at home!) which might have otherwise made it not work out (other than the obvious of him not being good enough) but ultimately it didn't work out for him. I guess the negative style of play didn't really help matters either but then how much more defensive was he compared to Karanka, O'Neill or Lamouchi? It ultimateiy didn't work for him so sacking him was the right thing to do and the attitude in that interview and others was a bit defeatist but he did also get us Lowe, Spence, Zinckernagel on loan as well as Garner the season before who ultimately came back. It wasn't all bad, and I certainly don't hate him for his time with us, though we should have done better.

It was the endless tactical demand of Yates collecting the ball from the keeper, playing it over the top of midfield towards Lyle Taylor to try and knock it down to an advanced Garner that pissed me off.

No thought about how to use Spence or Johnson. No thought about whether Garner could be the one collecting the ball from deep as a better distributor of the ball. No thought about if Lyle Taylor was actually a hold up striker.

Just complete narrow mindedness and ego, not willing to accept his methods were outdated, wrong, blamed his players for his failings and ultimately didn't care about Forest as a club to do anything about our plight, eventually holding on for a pay-off he didn't deserve.

Once again: f***ing ****.

I think Maxi is absolutely bang on. The football and results he served up were as bad as it gets.
He gave us the impression he was doing us a favour by being here and he certainly didn’t.
He may well have been a really nice guy away from football but there’s no surprise he’s had to find work in a land far far away.

To this day, I'm genuinely confused by Hughton. Confused that he came to us such a great reputation in the game. Confused as to how he built such a reputation when he effortlessly alienated fans and players alike, played negative football and failed to utilise his players strengths.
My Bluenose supporting friends were dead set against him and his playing style at Birmingham.
Ditto my Bright-based friends for the same reason when he managed Brighton.

People only say he's a nice guy because everyone tells us he's a nice guy whenever he is brought up in any conversation. It may well be true but the way he acted throughout his time here was quite nasty & indicates that he had a large ego and self importance sprinkled with a dose of dourness.

I still wake up in cold sweats about the Hughton + Lyle Taylor covid combo.

A bit like our Jonjo he did exude a bit of 'I know best' after his Billy big balls prem years. He was truly awful for us.

Not really a surprise as he was under pressure before the tournament started. Probably end up retiring as I don’t think he will be wanted man from now on.

Harsh sacking. It's not his fault even if he played players out of position and told them they were crap. The reality is Mohammed Kudus is a league one clogger. Hughton deserved more time.

I wouldn't have put it past him to get Ghana relegated. Not sure how it's possible, but Hughton would find a way I am sure.

Forest are magic on and off the pitch!
