He pirouetted sideways on to the ball. I'm no geometry specialist, but to my understanding that drastically narrows the probable point of contact rather than widens it.Personally I think he was trying to widen the wall to stop Toney from whipping it around him, which unfortunately left a massive hole where the ball went. He was overeager to stop the shot - don’t see that as cowardice myself
Let's be honest, he didn't want to get hit by the ball, plain and simple. All the more indefensible given it was his lazy foul that coughed up the free kick in the first place.
