What's he expected to say though really?

"The manager is a dickhead who never picks me."?

This is all standard player/media stuff and you can rest assured that if a change is made the players will be coming out saying how training is now different and they need to knuckle down for the new gaffer etc. In short it's all just media-trained soundbites with no real meaning.
There's quite a range of things he could have said between "the manager is like a big brother" and "the manager is a dickhead".

If he doesn't like or support Coops he could have given a much blander, neutral statement.

He’s always been a bit of Jekyll and Hyde, I think it was Liverpool last year he played incredible but then also had a few stinkers afterwards.

He’s a good squad player and should keep his place in the 11 as he did well last weekend, if only he could finish.

I don't think it was a bad finish fwiw. It's low and hard and to the side of Sa, who makes a good save. If he takes another touch, the defender who is approaching fast from his right will likely block the shot, or at least impede his leg as he swings. Plus he should get more credit for creating the chance in the first place.

I thought that Sa went down low before Kouyate hit his shot.
In which case a dink over Sa's prone and prostrated body would have been possibly more effective.
Mind you, I can't think of a player least likelt to take that chance than Kouyate.
He has strengths, but being a reliable finisher isn't his strongest suit.

Sa was still on his feet. Looking at this still, Kouyate was possibly slightly unlucky that he aimed for the far post and Sa was slightly out of position towards that side (though that might just be perspective fooling me). You can also see that if he takes another touch, he brings the defender very much into play.

You are right, I was mistaken.
If I had been in Kouyate's position i would have put my laces through it and blasted for the near post top corner.

I don't blame him for missing given he's:
- Not played in ages
- Just sprinted 20 yards, won a tackle, sprinted again with ball
- A defensive midfielder not known for his finishing.

But it was a tame effort, and he perhaps could have taken another touch (was at enough pace to get in front of defender, who wouldn't have put any tackle in for fear of penalty/red card).

Can see he was a bit frustrated with himself with the reaction after but it was a chance made out of nothing so a little less frustrating than someone who blasts over the bar just outside six yard box after nice build up play.

According to Wolves fans Kouyate should have simply fallen over.
On past experience the refand/or VAR would have red carded the Wolves defender and awarded Forest a penalty ✌️

Forest and Wolves looking for VAR to help them is like strapping a buttered piece of toast to a cats back and trying to work out which way it will land.

Look at Sa's positioning - it's a drilled low effort and is going just inside the corner, at least as far as I can tell. Ideally he'd have looked up and seen Sa out of position and gone for the other side, but I genuinely think calling it a tame effort is doing him quite the disservice.

Tame as in, it needed more power, which might have beaten Sa with less time to adjust.

Again, Kouyate's reaction afterwards is the giveaway that he thinks he should have put it in the net, not that the keeper pulled off a blinder.

Add recent blow to the head to that list. Decent chance, I'd back Wood/Taiwo to take it 4 times out of 5... Kouyate probably misses out more times than he gets the goal.
