He was reportedly on 100k at Newcastle so did he take a big pay cut to come to Forest? That would make no sense as we didn't offer him any extra years, we literally just took over his contract and paid £19m for the privilege. Awful business.

I dont want to be too controversial here but I want a striker better than Awonyi or at least at his level. Not to sign a 'back up'. I dont know what our budget is and neither do most here but I'd be putting a good chunk of it on an striker.

I dont know. Awonyi was £17m wasnt he. Not exactly massive money in this market.

I'd rather gamble on a foreign player for less money who could be an absolute bargain (or could be shit) rather than existing EPL player like Ihanacho or Adams where you know what you will get.

The recent Athletic article reported the transfer as £12m / 15m euro. So there is that as well.
