Callum James Hudson-Odoi

Seemed to have 3 men on him all the time. Should have created space for someone else but didn't.
Every forward player did. Palace are much fitter with their recent Dubai camp and new manager obsessed with fitness.

I think it'll turn out we picked the wrong manager to be honest.

Was most pleased his hard work at the end cancelled our that mistake where he coughed up possession- I feared another Liverpool moment.

He's a quality player - so much ability. Looked good in a difficult game for the attacking lot - Palace while dull we're well organised.

Played well yesterday but just wish when he has the fullback backed up towards his own penalty area that he's be a bit more positive, stops and cuts back too ofter. This wasn't helped by having a right footed left back yesterday so whenever Hudson-Odoi laid it off the cross still didn't come in as Aina had to stop and cut back as well.

Tavares certainly helped in that regard. I think the CHO cut back is often because the support isn't there too - most times yesterday he had a well marked Wood to aim for. We weren't good at getting players backing up yesterday - Elanga would really help there.

What a signing this lad has been - going from strength to strength and a real joy to watch. 5 goals and three assists - I'm hoping for at least one more of each to get him into double figures.

Shows the mark of a player when the opposition resort to cynicism too (wouldn't catch me doing that on a football pitch ;)).

Charlie Mcparland last week said we wouldn't get the 3m we paid back for him. Well Charlie, I think that just about confirms you as a prick unfortunately.

Anyhow, thank you Mr Steve Cooper - you found us a really goodun here. Credit also to Nuno who clearly recognises his talent - I remember reading something from him way back when he and Foden made their debuts. He's a long term admirer I believe.

Onwards!

Well, McParland is sort-of correct; Forest definitely would not get 3m if they sold Callum in the next window.

They would get several times that, I would imagine?

Through he was great last night, but if he had a left peg he’d be a world-beater.

Last week 😲

I could just about understand that comment immediately after we’d signed him.

Anyway, couldn’t give a damn if we get that £3m back or not if he keeps playing the way he is for next two or three seasons. Or even just the rest of this one.
Oh absolutely - I wouldn't want to shift him on and my feeling is he's only just getting going... Slowly but surely falling in love with us and still getting to grips with his game after the injury.

I honestly believe he can become as influential as MGW is for us, and that his individual talent is a level above. Just needs to (re)add that level of arrogance and trust in his body.

'wont even get 3m' I believe was the line!

Wouldn't need it as much with a proper overlapping full back. Toffolo just quite isn't it (albeit a good backup) and Aina is right footed so likes to cut inside himself.

CHO's confidence definitely been restored though. He looks like he's enjoying his football again too. Really happy for him.

You only have to look how happy he appears to be playing regularly again; confident, fearless, and willing to have a go from anywhere.

He really missed Tavares when he (and Aina) were out.

And I'm still not much a fan of Tofollo at this level - solid, dependable but doesn't do enough at either end of the pitch for me. Hope we can sort that left back slot should we stay up - if we go down Toffs would be next level mind! Expect goals and assists galore from him in the champ.
