Callum James Hudson-Odoi

Liked seeing him commit defenders more often than cutting back and playing a low risk pass.

Much better from him.

All I can say is f***ing finally.
He's going past people, he's pulling the skills out.
THIS is the Hudson-Odoi we hoped we had signed.
And it's coming at exactly the right time. Big T, Elanga, MGW and a confident CHO is more than enough firepower to see us move up the table.

We just need Aina and Sangare to return to help makes us a bit more solid at the back.

It was said that sangare looks better in 2 man midfeild. His back on Sunday hopefully we get to see the player we were expecting

I thought Nuno’s lungbusting overlaps created havoc for Callum to work in, I feel quite confident about him going forward
I think that was Tavares' best game fit us, despite his two poor attempts. Signs of a relationship building down that left side though and think consistency is helping Callum.

Of course, Aina comes back next week, though you'd imagine those two know each others game pretty well already.

There's a great relationship betweem the pair developing - they worked together well at Bournemouth too.
With the pace also on each wing , it's difficult to defend.
Challenge is our own defensive frailities with the wingers and full backs getting caught with over ambitious play at the back.
Is that the price to pay? Just except we may ooncede and hope to score more?
Or is five at the back a solution? Take out a centremid and encourgage Nuno to hang out in midfield - as he seems happy to do.

From a talent/skill perspective I've seen a couple of movements that have wowed me from Hudson-Odoi...

There was one piece of play v Bristol City away where it looked like he flicked the ball up with his left foot onto the back of his right inner thigh and down back to the left foot which he shifted out into his right to make the space for a shot/pass. All in one movement - I assume it was all intentional given his ability

There was something yesterday that I couldn't even tell you what he did to make half a yard of space for himself - just really incredible close control/trickery, even when moving at pace.

Kid's got next level ability skill wise - I really hope he can keep pushing on so we get to see more of it. If we can get him playing confidently to the level he's capable of he's levels above us. Fingers crossed for the lad...

It won't help his confidence being part of a squad that looks odds-on for relegation.

He looked decent yesterday and the partnership with Tavares was great at times.

Asking him to drop off and defend shouldn't be repeated though.

His confidence is growing with each game. I like that he is now getting the ball and running at defenders.

His improvement is one of the factors that gives me hope that this whiff of relegation may get blown away by our attacking strength.

When it is Tavares at full back, and Newcastle are double teaming him because they know he is a bit suspect in that role, someone has to come back to support him. Now, it seems the wide midfielder should be doing that as the defending midfielders should be covering the central track fron inside right to inside left.
Of course the counter argument to that is that if the wide wing midfield/winger stays upfield, then the opponents full back can't affordd to be indulging in overlapping attacking play in case they lose possession, and forest mount a swift counter attack.
Personally, I preferred it when Forest did push higher, and pressed higher.
That was when we had Newcastle rocking on their heels, and CHO and Elanga were able to use their speed and trickery to engineer goals.

Sometimes patience pays off. If he keep finding the level his skills deserve, this is one of the best signings of the season in the PL. The club does some things right after all.

I mentioned last week that knock might be a blessing in disguise. A confidence boost that he can take a knock and he won't shatter into a million pieces.

Great to see a lot of the CHO that we all saw at Chelsea
Haven't yet seen yesterday's game, but reading the latest positive comments, this was the first thing that occurred to me - good shout!
