But Turkish football is not what it used to be, given the collapse of the Turkish lira and economy. Most of the big clubs have enormous debts. The club that signed Assombalonga is a newcomer, therefore hasn't had the time to make debts.

Don't forget also Turkey is a massive country, it has a bigger population than any European country and the clubs are well supported there.
