Can no we have a moratorium on quoting from the post?.
They are an absolute disgrace now. There’s literally nothing but recycled stories from elsewhere. Not an iota of real journalism and frankly they don’t deserve to
Be seen as a real source of anything anymore...(which is a shame)

Today's episode of LTLF is sponsored by the word "Moratorium" :tophat:

I keep hoping Forest will learn lessons from the past and move forward not backward.

I genuinely don't get this and never have.

I'm not bothered about Britt either way, but if a good player is available, why would we not have him back here, regardless if he's played for us before or not? :dunno:

Would I take Cash back? Yes. Would I take Lascelles back? Yes. Would I take Osborn back? Yes. etc.

For me, alongside Antonio, the best player of the last decade or so has been Andy Reid on his return.

If they're good they're good, if they're not they're not. Either way whether they've been here before or not should be irrelevant iMO

I think the point of the previous post is that most of the players quoted are being released because they have not played up to the standard expected. Whereas the players you chose to quote are players many Premier League clubs would buy, let alone a middling Championship club.

You're just working your way round to wanting Billy back.

I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole personally.

He has a terrible mentality.

If he was any good he wouldn't be released on a free transfer after paying £15m for him.

Was good when he had a point to prove. Injuries and silk pyjamas have ruined him.

So let me get this straight; pretty much everyone on here wants us to replace Grabban and Taylor, yet we have some people advocating that we sign Assombalonga; a player whose goal scoring record over the last couple of seasons is identical to Taylor's (11 last season, 5 this season) and worse than Grabban's. Why?

Bang on. If he had any resale value, Middlesbrough would have cashed in. The fact that they let him go on a free speaks volumes, as does the fact that I have not seen a single Middlesbrough fan who is sorry to see him go.

A lot of people slate the club for signing so many expensive has beens last summer, signing Britt would be no different to that. If we sign the likes of Britt, Pritchard, Reach or half the Bristol City release list (as I have seen a lot of our fans suggest that we should) then we quite frankly deserve to be in another relegation battle next season as it would show that the club has learned absolutely nothing from this seasons debacle.

I think Grabban and Assombalonga could work well together.
Can't do any worse than what we saw this season.

20-21 - 31 games, 5 goals.
19-20 - 35 games, 11 goals.
18-19 - 42 games, 14 goals.
17-18 - 46 games, 15 goals.

I dunno boss man, even counting the reduced rate of goals this year, that's been pretty consistent.

A consistent decline in games played and goals scored.

27 games and 3 goals next year

Yep, easy to see the downward slide his career is on just from stats alone.

Whichever club is daft enough to fall into the trap of giving him a lucrative 3+ year contract will regret it. It's a signing that just screams "bomb squad material".

Calling him Bomb Squad Material is mental, he'd still do a good job for a team in this league.
He's better than Taylor for sure.

Is he though? His goalscoring record is identical to Taylor's over the last couple of seasons, and Britt was playing for a better team than the two that Taylor played for in that time too (and I don't rate Taylor at all based on his time here, for the record).

It's not just his goalscoring record that is the problem either. He's looked an absolute shadow of the player he once was whenever I've seen him play for Middlesbrough recently, and their fans are unanimous in being happy to see the back of him.

I think he's finished at this level and won't come close to hitting double figures at his next club (should he find himself back in this league). I'd prefer to sign a player whose career is on the up then hand Britt an expensive last pay day to hang out with Harry Arter and Carl Jenkinson in the bomb squad after he inevitably flops.

Our obsession with ex players to rescue us from the crapness is second to none

Not just our ex-players, but players who were good ages ago but have been crap in recent years for other clubs too (the annual suggestions that we should sign Jordan Rhodes or recent suggestions that we should sign Alex Pritchard, for example).

Then when we actually fill our squad with these sort of players, people then seem shocked and angry that we are still crap.

And then blame the management and owner for signing said players.

I like him. He looked bound for the PL initially before the injury. Was really unfortunate with the injury. Still came back and helped us stay up ultimately. Wouldn't blame any player for looking at Forest finishing lower every season in the Fawaz years, and then deciding after staying up on GD that it was time to get out. We recouped about three times the fee for him. No complaints.

Also, liked singing "doo doo doo..."

Feel like if its a mental & motivation issue, then perhaps the old Socialist Hughton could connect with the politically engaged Britt? can't see Britt getting on with Warnock at all

If its a physical issue and he's turned into a chubby Dj who likes to party too much then we should steer clear.

Signed for recently promoted to the Turkish Süper Lig Adana Demirspor. They must have shitloads of money, because they also signed Younès Belhanda, who had a huge contract at Galatasaray.

Does many teams in Turkey not have a shitload of money?

The Turkish League in general is a very strange League.
