The Shithouse master is still well and truly at it.I have watched a few Lens matches on DAZN, just to see how he is getting on.
(Narrator: he is doing rather well).
Love the guy. He will remain a Forest legend, and I suspect he will never need to buy a drink in Nottingham, ever again.
I feel for him. He was due to make the cut until his rush of blood last week! There must have been a mistake as I don't see Joe Wildsmith in the nominations
Tbf Derby have never lost when he's kept a clean sheet. Shouldn't that be enough reason?I feel for him. He was due to make the cut until his rush of blood last week!
Yeah he would have been box office, those one handed catches in particular.I have no problem with Samba, the situation when he left, or either situation now. I just feel like it is the premier league loss, not having him, because it is such an amazing character and clearly talented, he was made for the big leagues
I agree.Yeah he would have been box office, those one handed catches in particular.
To be fair, im not sure whether cooper actually trusted his temperament after the Stoke game, he did after all play Horvath for a few more matches until he was too late back from the US to play in a match and then Brice got his place back.I still get that tinge of sadness when I think of what might have been had he stayed; I have no doubt whatsoever he'd have thrived for us in the Premier League and provided plenty of laughs and memes in the process!
Some players are legends for their longevity at the club, and some are here only briefly but become one through sheer force of character
Brice is definitely the latter and I'll always wish him well wherever he goes
I haven't kept too keen an eye on his time at Lens to be honest but a quick check on Soccerbase and he hasn't received any red cards sinceTo be fair, im not sure whether cooper actually trusted his temperament after the Stoke game, he did after all play Horvath for a few more matches until he was too late back from the US to play in a match and then Brice got his place back.
Especially in the PL you get opponents who are total shit heads and wind up your players (especially in the team we visited weekend before last lolz) which maybe they thought he wouldn't cope with.
Although you sometimes can't tell, ability wise I'm sure he would have been one of the better GKs in the PL
Yes, but when the trust goes there's always that niggling doubt in your mind about whether it will happen again.I haven't kept too keen an eye on his time at Lens to be honest but a quick check on Soccerbase and he hasn't received any red cards since
I dare say he learnt from that episode

I agree with you, but maybe the club felt otherwise?
I think Cooper was teaching Samba a lesson by leaving him out after his suspension, while being fair to Horvath because he hadn't made any mistakes. Cooper was all about next man up (particularly in the Championship), but I suspect he was happy Horvath was late back from international duty so it gave him an excuse to bring Brice back in.To be fair, im not sure whether cooper actually trusted his temperament after the Stoke game, he did after all play Horvath for a few more matches until he was too late back from the US to play in a match and then Brice got his place back.

I don't get all this discussion. Samba didn't like to stay. He didn't believe in Forest and wanted to capitalize his great season. That's business. Nobody could stop him from leaving. And don't be fooled, the reason wasn't that you were addressing other keepers too. All teams try to strengthen their squads. The players are not running away when the club gets another potential starter in their position. They stay and fight and then if they won't get what they deserve they file a request to leave. Samba just didn't believe in Forest's survival and left.

Bad take. If Samba did not believe in us why did he not just leave whilst we were in the Championship?I don't get all this discussion. Samba didn't like to stay. He pretty much is the reason we got to Wembley and got promoted. He wanted a contract that he deserved and to feel respected and trusted as our number 1, which he 100% deserved. His brother pretty much confirmed this.
Instead it was just leaks about wanting to sign Henderson & Pope which left a sour taste in his mouth, which ultimately led him to saying I will leave as I feel disrespected and the club showed him the door. Remember it wasn't just rumours that we want to sign a keeper for competition to Brice, it was headlines along the lines of "Forest target their first summer signing to be world class goalkeeper to be new number 1".
We sold him for only £5m and have signed Turner and Vlachodimos for more... It is terrible business and one that we are paying the price for, as we scrambled most of summer to find a number 1 who we should already have.
