Brice Lauriche Samba - „Magic Hands“

I watched France play Gibraltar, and Brice nearly blew it in the 1st half.

Gibraltar caught him too far off his line, and a shot from near halfway sailed over him and hit the top netting.

A shot from halfway? And your using that as stick to beat him with? That's a pedantic argument at best

Watching Samba at Old Trafford at the mo Such a shame we didn't keep hold of him. I forgot how good his distribution is.

Great goal from Lens just now too.

Wonder how much we've spent on downgrades since...

Wonder how much he would be worth now?

This one still annoys me that we let him go, should have been our keeper shithousing in the prem, not often you get a player who the fans just adore.
I know some will say he wanted to leave but I think we really upset him by openly looking for a replacement as soon as we got promoted.

There must have been a mistake as I don't see Joe Wildsmith in the nominations

He was proved right, wasn’t he? Told us he was nobody’s second choice and, well, he isn’t. As France Number One he’s probably worth about €40m in this market. We’ve generally been great in the transfer market but this one was an epic blunder.

He's in esteemed company. And deservedly so.

You love to see it. I don't mean to offend anyone who had this view but the calls for Horvath to stay in the team over Samba were some of the most bizarre I've ever seen from Forest fans

Samba was so far above our level it was insane and I still don't think some people understand just how key him basically being a 5th/6th centre back for us when on the ball was to our promotion season

So glad he's found success, but equally as glad Forest have too so I can be happy for him and not bitter!!!

I have watched a few Lens matches on DAZN, just to see how he is getting on.

(Narrator: he is doing rather well).

Love the guy. He will remain a Forest legend, and I suspect he will never need to buy a drink in Nottingham, ever again.

I don't get all this discussion. Samba didn't like to stay. He didn't believe in Forest and wanted to capitalize his great season. That's business. Nobody could stop him from leaving. And don't be fooled, the reason wasn't that you were addressing other keepers too. All teams try to strengthen their squads. The players are not running away when the club gets another potential starter in their position. They stay and fight and then if they won't get what they deserve they file a request to leave. Samba just didn't believe in Forest's survival and left.

I mean there were people that moaned about Samba in the Championship.

I agree with Karteo, I think in general there is more too it - I don't think we decided he wasn't good enough so wanted him gone. He was gonna go to Lens whatever happened, they had spent months prior talking to him the fact the deal happened so quickly after the season probably reflects that.

I have no ill will from any perspective towards the Samba situation, he did incredible things for the club & am internally grateful for that. It's not like we are struggling is it.
