Brice Lauriche Samba - „Magic Hands“

Just out of interest, how many moments of poor judgement would you say Samba has had throughout the season? I assume that he's averaging about one mistake a game in your view if it's happening once for every 90 minutes that he's played for us?

It's more just a feeling I get with him. Posters can throw all the stats they like at me, and the stats obviously tell part of a picture not the whole of it, but it's just a feeling I have in me gut. He doesn't fill me with the same confidence a few others have over the years.

I don't think he's shit at all, nor would I be gutted if we began 22/23 with him in goal but I feel if the option is there to replace I would be open to it. I'd have him as the weakest link in our admittedly all round fairly strong side at the moment.

This is one of the wildest inaccurate statements I have read on this forum in a long long time.

Earlier thsi year, on a few occasions, he played balls (while not being under any pressure) directly to opposition players on the cusp of our back third. Generally his distribution is good, but he has lapses in concentration, and those count.

Saturday was Samba in a nutshell. 89 minutes of confident, assured goalkeeping with hands and feet then a moment of poor judgment at the end.

Would certainly be looking to replace him if we went up and wouldn't be totally against the idea even if we don't.

Camp was very inspired in the Davies days. Whatever he got out of him was extremely good.

But Beasant should also get a mention.

Goalkeepers often get better as they get older.

If that's what we've got to look forward to, I'm happy to have Samba.

It's all about mid-table...
Coops will tell him all day today, as he will have since Saturday.

His distribution is as good as Ive seen any keepers at any level.
Ticks the shot stopping box.
Happy with his ability to claim crosses.
Pound for pound we aint getting any better.

His concentration levels are probably the only thing in question, he is prone to the odd lapse or impulsive moment that can cost you. Hopefully everyone is in his ear prior to the game to make sure he aint too pumped.

If I could have Devries in goal as a one off for tonight, Id take it.

I'd agree with Beasant. He was fantastic for us.

Also important to remember keepers develop our time. Who can forget Normferatu, so called because he was afraid of crosses. But by the time he left us he was a fully rounded keeper. Samba is still onthat journey. This is only his 4th season as a 1st choice keeper, and he's a bloody good one already.

In the Fulham game it looked at though each and every cross was aimed at him. Or maybe that was just him being in the right place? When Bournemouth set siege in the second half he claimed pretty much everything too.

My guess is if we don't go up he'll be on the radar of a few clubs playing top division football somewhere.

We brought de Vries in for a one off game against Shefffield United under Billy and that went very well.

Horvath should be star-f*** OFF

The greatest Forest keeper this century. The big game player, the biggest saves the CG has seen since Smith vs Ipswich. It was never in doubt when it went to penalties with him our net. f***ing LEGEND.
