In my defence I always go to my Morris Dancing Convention at the end of the season, you know this that where we met, not my fault ya weren’t allowed to stay cause ya had nee bells for ya knees, so this year when it finished I decided to take a little time to enjoy my real passion of painting wildlife, I’m really good at painting and drawing and that sort of stuff I’m sure you’ve seen ……anyway here’s proof I ain’t just been idling my time away, this sort of work takes time, it was a real labour of love ……not finished but you can see it’s taking shape.

Yeah and tbf they have had the better go of it overall the past couple of seasons, but still weird indeed haha. Sure even their fans are astonished with how much money they are now spending.

That is Paul Warne's team selection for their crucial clash with Sheffield Wednesday on the last day of the season and the very same image he put up on the whiteboard in the dressing room. YOU - as the expert DCFC correspondent - should have been here to bring us that news and any other snippets such as ship spotting and ghost watch. But no . . . .you left it to me, the understudy, and my repeated pleas for help went unheeded. That means disregarded/ignored . . . . not without a head, as you might read it.

I failed. It was your job - your passion - and you just left us to it.

I went looking for a list of Brentford’s achievements earlier ……..took some finding ……in their history they’ve won the square root of feck all and still have the temerity to lord it over the leagues new boys, the sun shines on every dogs arse once in a while I accept but I think they’re getting a little big for their boots.

Not this fan, but imo if NFFC hold out for £40m+, then I doubt BFC will pay that. Don't get me wrong, we have the money, from always staying within FFP during our time in the Championship (including turning a profit a couple of times); from not having to pay any big transfer fees in our first season in the Prem and only sensible money in the second; from a minimum three seasons TV/Prize money (£350m?) now we're here and a guaranteed 3 years parachute money should we get relegated. We've also got a couple of players (Toney, Raya) who could fetch big fees too. Oh, and an owner who's minted.

However we also have a strict wage structure (2nd lowest wage bill in the Prem last season ahead of B'mouth) and while I'm sure we could greatly improve BJ's (rumoured low) present package at Forest, to prise him away would probably require a massive increase, which in turn would see the other players demanding more. Also, we have a clear "Buy Early, Sell Late" policy in transfer windows, so the longer this drags on, the less likely it is to happen imo.

All that said, as a club we don't generally waste time even enquiring after a player unless we feel we have a reasonable chance of landing him.

Darren Fletcher said as much on that live Garibaldi Reds podcast. Regardless of what people think of him, he clearly has some close links in that dressing room. Literally said other players were playfully mocking Johnson over how much money he is on.

You can't be lucky over a 38 game season

Saints, Leicester & Leeds went down because we were better than them & we finished above Everton because we were better than them

For balance Villa & Brentford finished above us because they were better than us
