Brennan Price Johnson

Redemption

One less gobshite...
Darren Fletcher said as much on that live Garibaldi Reds podcast. Regardless of what people think of him, he clearly has some close links in that dressing room. Literally said other players were playfully mocking Johnson over how much money he is on.
How much or how little?

Not this fan, but imo if NFFC hold out for £40m+, then I doubt BFC will pay that. Don't get me wrong, we have the money, from always staying within FFP during our time in the Championship (including turning a profit a couple of times); from not having to pay any big transfer fees in our first season in the Prem and only sensible money in the second; from a minimum three seasons TV/Prize money (£350m?) now we're here and a guaranteed 3 years parachute money should we get relegated. We've also got a couple of players (Toney, Raya) who could fetch big fees too. Oh, and an owner who's minted.

However we also have a strict wage structure (2nd lowest wage bill in the Prem last season ahead of B'mouth) and while I'm sure we could greatly improve BJ's (rumoured low) present package at Forest, to prise him away would probably require a massive increase, which in turn would see the other players demanding more. Also, we have a clear "Buy Early, Sell Late" policy in transfer windows, so the longer this drags on, the less likely it is to happen imo.

All that said, as a club we don't generally waste time even enquiring after a player unless we feel we have a reasonable chance of landing him.
Maybe a higher salary would appeal to BJ but I doubt Bees could offer a salary high enough to prise him away. Forest is also a PL team and has a guaranteed 3 years of para payments if necessary. They also have some high value players and not just BJ. I think MGW would be in the 50m+ as he looks a real prospect. I expect Forest would be able to match or beat any salary Bees offered so if BJ goes to Bees it would have to be for something more than cash.

Absolute bollocks

You can't be lucky over a 38 game season

Saints, Leicester & Leeds went down because we were better than them & we finished above Everton because we were better than them

For balance Villa & Brentford finished above us because they were better than us
Villa were lucky someone unplugged the Goal Line Technology machine when we were playing Blades and only stayed up by a hair on the last day that season.

Tldr

Only fact that matters is that if you really wanted him you’d have to pay mega big bucks, both to convince us and to convince him. And you’re not going to, so off you trot. No one’s interested in the detail of what you think your club does or doesn’t do.

I agree, I find it difficult to comprehend how quickly they have gone backward. Villa only best them 2-1 in the playoff final and arguably we should have had a man sent off. They could have easily got promoted and things could be very different for them

Don’t worry about it. It all adds to the comedy value

Instead they remain the worst team in history. It’s one of the few things that make me wonder if there truly are vengeful gods.

100%

We were lucky to stay up this year.

Staying up should be the only goal this year.
I don’t think we were lucky. Our injury list was horrendous which was unlucky and we were expertly coached/managed at the right times in order to get the most from our squad. I’m thinking of Cooper’s change in tactics after the Leicester game. The World Cup break came at the right time for us and we made the most of that.

That would make sense.

Can you imagine being the club's highest valued player and your team negotiating a low wage. 🙄
Well, indeed. I think there is no chance he leaves but I'd say its only the pull of Europe if he goes to Villa. Just cant see it from a local lad, at this point.

I can see Forest getting increasingly peed off with Wales. Paige publicly came out to slam Forest when we withdraw Johnson due to injury at back end of last season -i don’t think Cooper responded. And now this. Pleased Cooper has highlighted this and we had a few national teams last season fail to take care of our players when on international duty.

Hold out for 40m? You cant honestly think Johnson leaves for 40m? 🤣

You've spent the last two seasons trying to get Brennan for next to nothing, coming back with derisory offer after derisory offer. You offer nowhere near what he's valued at by our club so have absolutely no reasonable chance of buying him, yet you still keep trying, so I hope you don't mind me taking your comment with a huge mountain of salt.

It makes me laugh when they come on here and explain, at length, how their strategy is to buy undervalued players on the cheap, and then sell them on for a profit. Then act all indignant when we suggest they may be making lowball offers.

I start reading the post then after 2 lines just wonder why the f*** they are a) On here and b) Whats the purpose of the long post.

They dont seem to grasp it, its as if writing stupid long irrelevant posts increases the chances of their club signing him.

If we approached NFFC offering "X", and you came back saying "No way, it's XXX", then if we didn't take the hint (which we would), then neither NFFC nor the player's Agent would bother picking up the phone again.

Therefore for us to maintain our interest, we must have been reasonably close. Of course, as the player's career has developed, including a good season in the PL. then NFFC's asking price will have increased accordingly. As against that, our finances have also increased accordingly.

Beyond that, for previous targets, Bees have often let it be known when their interest has cooled.

Anyhow, as I've said before, I don't think we will sign him - it partly depends on (a ) how much we might bring in for Toney and Raya; and (b ) whether bigger clubs comes in with a firm offer, thereby starting an auction. Option (a ) could help us, though we're not in the habit of paying more than our own valuation. While option (b ) would see us out of the race.

I'll try to make it simple for you:
1. I came on here to see what NFFC fans think about the player;
2. I still don't think we'll sign him;
3. Merely calling something "stupid" does not make it so;
4 And as for posts "increasing the chances of signing him etc", just because you (somehow) infer something, does not mean it was implied.

Let me make it simple for you too:

- Nobody cares about your waffle
- You wont be signing Johnson
- f*** off
