Id accept £55 millon cash but again I wouldnt sell to Brentford. You dont sell players to rivals. Thats the crux of it, EM should have said to Brentford no chance we will ever sell to you. We want to be hunting them down now not losing one of our best players to them.

There are 19 other rivals in the Premier League.
Some are more serious rivals than others!

A myth paraded by Man Utd, Liverpool, and Chelsea fans in the noughties and adopted by every other fan out of envy.

IIRC, it was David Gill who originally said it.

Exactly the right point and the bit that WilloBeez was missing. Why would we sell for £30m or even £40m and then sit there wondering how we fill that hole that would be left. Because 2x Chris Woods isn’t helping much.
And u get naff all for 30m these days. 3 years ago we paid 28m+5m for Ollie Watkins and at the time he had no PL experience.

I know that Nuno that I know that Nuno that I know

But, but, but that was from Brentford so you knew he was a world class player

There is a logical inconsistency in the Brentford fan position...

On the one hand, they claimnto be adept at scoring the market for these up and coming stars.

On the other hand, in buying BJ they would be paying premium by their own standards (even though less and we'd expect) based on the assumption that we could find a replacement by scouting widely.

If that was the case, why are they finding the untapped gems?

Its because every club gets lucky with a few purchases and it stands to reason that there will be a few clubs get very lucky and a few clubs have less luck. For example, Villa bought McGinn for 2m and Douglas Luiz for 15m, both 'lucky', we also bought Traore for 17m and Sanson for 15m, both 'unlucky'
Brighton and Bees have been very lucky with a few purchases but it is only 4 or 5 players each in the last 4 or 5 years but both clubs have decent managers that try to play decent football. This is translated into some 'magic system' these use for scouting by the media. It's all BS in my opinion, yes data helps but most clubs use data now. Brighton and Brentford will revert to the norm with their purchases and will get a shock when they realise they don't have the 'player sales' revenue they used to enjoy has dried up. We will then see their 'true' position in the league.

I hope we get the Brennan thing sorted soon. I'm getting fed up with the Bees/ Villans chat.

We all support our football club, we all think our club is great. Enough.

It's someone like West Ham that worries me, even though they haven't registered interest yet.
If they f*** Scamacca off, they'll be looking for a new forward.
They're a London club, European football and they've just sold Rice as well so they're loaded.

They have Jarod Bowen playing in Brennan's role. I know who I'd prefer.

Honestly I couldn’t give a f*** re money. As it stands Forest are equal footing in the prem with every club with exactly the same ambitions long term. It’s down to BJ if he wants to be part of it with Forest, not Villa and certainly not f***ing Brentford lol
I don't agree with that, PL clubs have very different ambitions and they are not on an equal footing. The likes of Palace and Bournemouth do not have the ambition to win the PL and win the Champions League. Their ambition is to stay in the PL and maybe break into the top half and have a few seasons in Europe. Man Utd has revenue of circa 600m which is reflected in their FFP limits and the amount they can spend on players and salaries they can pay. That puts them on a different footing to most clubs in the PL
