Brazil v England

Theo Walcott, another marmite type footballer. I would far prefer to see him deployed in a central position, where his blistering pace can be used to a greater effect, rather than the good old English fashion of a continued and predictable running of the channel on the right wing.

Fr any debate following, I rate Walcott and think he is an exciting footballer.

Agree totally, he's never a winger while he can get the odd good cross in he can't do it consistently.

He's clearly a striker and he agrees with that, you can tell by how often he wants to cut inside. Great player but as a striker not a winger.

Crichton was on Forest booksonce I think. Doing that in front of Trent End would have been particularly annoying for him.

Best own goal I saw at the City Ground was a bullet diving header by Trent McLenehan who was playing full-back for Wimbledon (I think it was before Monkey Dons days)... the most puzzling thing about it at the time was there was nobody behind him so no need for him to get anything on the cross at all

I've never found footage of it. I think he scored it in the Bridgford End.

I know what you are saying when he plays more central he is more effective. On the wing if its just a foot race one on one he will often win he just can't dribble and beat players or cross or pass to feet. Like watching a host of England wingers in recent years e.g. SWP, very frustrating.

Yeah that was spectacular (a bit like Garner's at Norwich). It was at the Bridgford End, and I seem to remember the only Forest player in the final third being John Curtis - it might have been his cross that was headed in.

Wasn't the best own goal that one by the Milwall player that won him our "Player of the Season" and secured us promotion (or am I dreaming)?

That one's passed me by!

Given the lack of video of the Wimbledon one I guess it could actually have been shit :D It was in 2006 I think and they were the MK Dons by then. We won the match 3-0.
