I'm sure the club will read fan forums, so they will know all the details. It just seems odd that no one has contacted Zoe or the forum even unofficially.

They do read this forum VP, regularly.

Indeed, when we posted a thread the other day to attempt to connect fans who might need help getting tickets to the Playoff Final, the club were promptly on the f***ing blower requesting we not promote such revolutionary ideas.

So, yeah, you’ll have to excuse me if I come across a bit salty about the lack of reaction of the club to genuine fan-driven campaigns like this one, but I’m going to call them out for their deliberate lethargy.

Nottingham Forest fans deserve better.

And you can quote me on that.

Zoe , what you’ve done is amazing

But I’d say what has happened in the club is someone high up has said no mention of the pitch invasion. So you get blocked out too

I can see an argument for the club distancing themselves, given the noise around pitch invasions at the moment it makes sense to exercise caution in comms.

Of course, Zoe’s awesome fundraiser has nothing to do with condoning pitch invasions, but is explicitly aiming to mitigate for the outcome of one.

There’s likely to be further sanctions in future now on this kind of thing and even though it’s a minority as ever who’ve caused it, we amongst other clubs are catalysts for that whether we like it or not. Forest have to tread very carefully on this.

They may also have policies around backing what, whilst now definitely viral, could be seen as individual or specific groups of fans fundraising in the interests of fairness or not favouring a particular supporters group over another.

Best part of £15k though. Bloody amazing, and will make a massive difference to a fabulous charity. Lots to be proud of and in some ways more satisfying for the lack of direct pushing by NFFC.

There's absolutely no reason why Forest couldn't come out and condemn what happened after the game. They asked for fans not to go onto the pitch, unrealistically I know, but they did try.

To just ignore the fund raising is bizarre, but there you go, a chance for a bit of redemption goes begging.

During pitch invasion from where I was sat we could hear an announcement keep coming through the tannoy but it was just noise u couldn’t make out what it said. Just a small point, as would not make a difference to the majority of fans on pitch but if they cud have a better sound system and then explain the players are ready to come back out onto the pitch so it needs to empty or if fans go onto pitch the players will not come out etc it may make some people think twice.

I might sound like a boring old *ucker but the only way to stop it, if you really want to, is to ban people who go on the pitch from attending games. Clearly all those on the pitch on Tuesday couldn't be banned but making am example of a few would make people think again..

I agree.

It’s a legal offence to enter the field of play and anyone doing so needs to be prepared to face the consequences of doing so.

To support it, however, the club would need the provision to prevent, control and manage it.

The club cannot prevent public accessibility onto the pitch. That’s clear.

How can the police control it with such limited resources and potentially 10,000 people running around? Horses and dogs? Tasers? Big big huge financial penalties, banning orders and custodial sentences?

Sadly, unless things change it’s only a matter of time before someone gets more seriously assaulted or injured or worse.

There are some downsides to the club directly contribute to this. If they put £100 in they would be criticised by many for the size of it. I can just hear some saying that they should put in more. If they put a large amount some might see them riding on the publicity of a fan led charity drive. Had they come in early on and said say they would double the final fan total sounds supporting, where to me coming in at the end and saying they will, while generous and I'm sure it would be appreciated by the charity, would sound a little like buying good publicity.

The club could have made annonymous donations to the fund in small amounts so as to go under the radar. The fund makes the Forest fans look good which reflects well on the club itself.

Nobody is asking the club for money, as such.

Just them promoting the idea, perhaps by an endorsement via social media, would have been nice.

Yip just a little nod of the head and maybe a mention of our newest famous supporter Zoe would give everyone a little warm feeling inside.

Though it would be amazing for the club to make a.financial contribution, I didn't and wouldn't expect that. It was the deafening wall of silence on twitter and actual ignoring of multiple tags that's irked. We have raised this phenomenonal amount despite the club, it's just annoying when you wonder how much more could have been raised with their reach, and there are a few people said they'd contribute when the club endorsed it, so presumably haven't

Just chucked in £40 to take it over… not showing yet tho.

I’d already done a donation at the start but it needs to get to that £15k as it’s a great show of support from us all
