BBC Match of the day farce.

The thing that irritated me more than anything about Saturday night's MotD was Ian Wright referring to Burnley players as 'he', rather than using their names. Is it too much to expect a pundit to find out the identities of who he's talking about in return for his appearance fee?

The wing nut bin dipper Lineker is paid £1.3m a year by the BBC, a total waste of money.
Rumours are that JJ is lined up to replace him eventually on MOD- at least this will give us a better balances Forest perspective if we are still in the Prem.
Sorry to disappoint you but jj will be reading the script he won't be writing it.
He will do as he is told if he enjoys being on nearly every program on television 😂

JJ is a good shout for Lineker replacement

With MTOD, I just feel like they often miss the story of the game

The analysis was interesting in that it highlighted how many players Brighton push into the opposition penalty area to create chances.

Must admit I was disappointed they didn't focus a bit more on our passive camping on the edge of our own box.

It’s almost as if the low block was there for a reason?

Easy to push players forward when there's no pressure on your defence.

Brighton push players forward anyway and play a very high line. They would have done it regardless of our defensive shape.
What was disappointing was that we didn’t take advantage of the massive gap behind their defence. Our service to Elanga was woeful.

Funnily enough I saw something about Lineker the other day (I forget what as he is pretty forgetable) and thought who would replace him on MOTD and my thought was JJ. I haven't been starting any rumours though.

I only note how poor MOTD is when watching my own team because I care and have much more information to hand, about the game and personalities concerned.

The MOTD review (I'll forget the highlights because they are almost exactly the same as the Sky highlights) is just stuff the pundits have cobbled together from odd media stuff on the internet plus hurried tactical comment rushed through after the games.

I'm just interested to see what they say about our game, the rest I can't be bothered with. When I say "interested", I really mean just how much can they say without mentioning us.

The amount of times over the years I've been to a game then got home and watched the highlights on MOTD and wondered how the hell they missed out so many key moments, whilst often including and focusing on so many lame ones, is far too many for me to ever consider watching it again.

And Lineker I detest with a passion. The embodiment of everything wrong in modern culture. Pure scumbag.

My point was, that there are two sides to a match and even if one side was clearly better than the other, comments should be made fairly about both sides. Forest was not mentioned once in their ramblings, which to me shows an obvious dislike of our team by Lineker whereas he should be neutral.

Are there seriously people on here who think Linaker is in charge of the editorial content on MOTD and and not just following a script?

And I really hate to break this to you people, but that average neutral viewer is far more interested in what happens in the Man City, Man U, Liverpool, Arsenal etc etc matches than the Forest match.

The only decent thing about Match of the Day is the theme music.

Match of the Day is shit, like everything else on the BBC nowadays.
I definitely don't disagree with you about much of its primetime entertainment stuff MY, but a lot of the BBC's other content - drama (I'm referring specifically to Happy Valley, LoD and such like), documentaries, nature, other factual and political programming (Hardtalk, Unspun World and Newsnight) is very good - albeit in my opinion of course.

Who are the ex pros on Sky de chief?
Always like finding a game when I'm abroad on TV and seeing if I recognise the pundits from champ manager or they played for Sheffield Wednesday or West Ham in the late 90's.

On Sky, Dietmar Hamman is a frequent guest in the studio, as is my old mate, Thomas Hitzlsperger. Erik Meijer (mainly known for his spell at Leverkusen, but briefly also of the scousers), presents an entertaining analysis segment every week.

Michael Ballack has popped up occasionally on DAZN, and he is intelligent, considered and insightful.

The main man on Sky on matchdays pitchside, is Lothar Matthäus, who can always be relied on to say something controversial, or troll FC Bayern. Or usually both.

German coverage also includes interviews with both Coaches, pre- and post-match, and also often an interview with each clubs‘ Sporting Director (a key role in the Bundesliga).
