Prompted by seeing Southampton have lost again and seem bound even at this stage for a swift return to the NPC I took a look at where Derby were at this stage in their glory year.

Yes I said glory year:LOL:

Any way after 8 games Derby had 5 points this year after 8 games three teams have less points than that.

Reading
Southampton
QPR

So guys whose the one (if any) to steal the title of worst prem team ever from our esteemed neighbours?

I said quite early doors that Southampton could be contenders for this, still think so too.

QPR look hella shit too.

Lets hope they all improve!

Spot on I thought about that today looking at the Prem League.........It WOULD BE DREADFUL IF SOME SELFISH SIDE DESTROYED OUR CHANTS OF ''Worst team in history''.

I hope all of them get their house's into some sort of order pdq.

Southampton have two goalscorers that will nick them points.

Derby literally had nothing, they would have done better had they sent our cardboard cutouts.

It's a record which they'll keep forever, cross fingers.

You're right about Southampton having goalscorers unfortunately they actually appear to be using cardboard cutouts as defenders.

Dont forget Derbys defensive lynchpin that season was none other than Darren Moore..... even George Weahs fake cousin was a better premier league footballer than Darren.

No chance.
That season was the football equivalent of a perfect storm for Derby. Never to be repeated.

QPR are a decent side but have had a tough run of games to start the season. Having just looked at their fixture list, they could easily turn it around and have 20 points by christmas.

Southampton and Reading will both probably go down but they have both have some spirit, and quality in the final third, so will easily surpass the miserly total set out by that awful Derby side.

What a glorious read this is!

11 points is hard to beat but even if nobody beats that being relegated with 6 games to go might be beaten if these hopeless lots get cut adrift the way they look like being!

Do they hold the record for earliest relegation as well?

Conceded four goals or more in 25% of their games.

Beating Derby's record over a season is probably not possible.

A more realistic challenge is to try to reach the new year with less than 11 points and become a sort of 'Derby-lite'.

Last year Blackburn looked like being the first side to make it to January 1st with less than 11 points since Derby's record-breaking season. Rovers were unlucky to record an unlikely 3-2 victory at Old Trafford on new year's eve though.

Should any of them beat the sheeps record I shall simply deny any knowledge of it and carry on regardless.

Still not been a nil one result in the premier league this season......maybe teams have forgot how to do a snatch and grab at an away ground.......

Southampton look lost in the back. IF Adkins doesn't add the right pieces in January, great potential there.

QPR just have too much quality to do that poorly. They may go down, but not with that few points.

I don't care if anyone does.

They will always be the 'worst team in history'!

in a way I hope someone does then that will show that Derby can't even win a worst team competition

I really don't think Reading or Southampton will finish with less than 11 points. For the simple reason that both teams are well capable of scoring goals (even if both are hopeless at the back). Derby were reliant on "prolific" Kenny Miller and an ineffective Earnshaw that season, they didn't score goals and that was their main problem.

When Hughes gets the sack, Rangers should get their shit together. Although i think they play as a group of individuals rather than a team.
