I was not impressed when we were linked with him. But he's genuinely a great part of the team, tries his heart out, you can see the talent, and he seems like a genuinely lovely lad.

Obvious room for improvement. He needs to learn to look after the ball more like CHO, and his decision making will get better. But when he's in full flight running straight at the heart of a team is there a better sight in the league.

I still think we should sign Nico Williams to further confuse Laws.
I still think Forest should sign Nico Williams because he’s f***ing mint, but that‘s just me; confusing Laws would be a side-benefit.

That ship sailed long ago sadly - all the big guns want him now.

Should have signed him when we first heard about the namealike 18 or so months ago - we've signed players for lesser reasons.

Oh, I know, I watch a fair bit of La Liga.

Even Bayern had a sniff, but were put off by the reputed price.

The one I like is Beier at Hoffenheim.

Good player, Max Beier. 12 goals in 24 league games, and he’s not static either, often wandering into wider positions to look for a cross.

I know back in the 90s versions, when you started a new save, George Weah would always be playing in some random Gulf league for like 1500 a week, and he’d always sign for you and smash in about 30-40 goals, mainly because he was still mint.

There was a glitch in one of the 90's versions where if you reversed the opposition formation you would smash them every time. So if the opposition played 4-4-2 you would play 2-4-4. This allowed me to make Jason Kaminsky an England international who was scoring 40+ goals a season helping me walk my way up the leagues as Chester (I was them as I liked the name because it sounded like a kindly gent).

He has bags of pace. His mental and technical game are questionable. Pace makes players dangerous. He could stay the same type or he could move up a level or two, perhaps. As he idolized CRon, as long as he has the same application in training, the improvement is possible. Time will tell.

It's hard to overstate how important he is to this Forest side being decent, in my opinion, solely because his pace demands the other team's attention, which gives Hudson-Odoi the occasional extra yard of space on the other side to cause damage. He's relentless.

It's a night and day difference when he's on the pitch vs Origi strolling around trying to nutmeg people and do little flicks.

Ever since seeing Nathan Tyson use his pace allied to his not great talent frighten the opposition, I've felt over the years we have neglected this vital element in the game (not the lack of talent).

Now we have two wingers who can cause the opposition to stop and think, it really does make a difference.

Whatever Elanga's faults, he tries hard and has that pace to worry defenders.
