Liked the fact he had a go and he looked alright to be fair to him. But his first touch at times rivaled Lyle Taylor's.... and not in a good way.

Is it wrong that he reminded me of Franz Carr?
He had the same element of unpredictability, to the point that he didn’t look like he knew what he was going to do himself.

Ooh ahh franzy carry liked your post. He probably likes every post franz is mentioned!

It would be deeply stupid to let this guy go with so many of our players out injured or possibly returning to their own clubs. He showed then times more guts today than Zink today and really tried to make something happen. That's good enough for him to at least deserve a chance.

OK - the decision to buy him appears to have been driven by panic and a hope that he would suddenly deliver on the potential West am saw when they signed him up, and his debut for the last 20 minutes under Hughton was less than impressive, but I thought he looked lively yesterday, and on another day the curl on the shot that hit the post would have been sufficient to see the ball cannon off the upright and hit the back of the net.
With games coming quickly over Christmas and the New Year, he will probably be needed, and with game time in a few games he may settle and produce the goods.
To bin him after those 20 minutes under a manager who hated to attack would be to compound the panicked decision to buy him in the first place.
He has pace: hopefully Steve and his team of coaches can harness that and produce a player who we grow to love.

Nathan Tyson had pace, too, with great enthusiasm. Used to create panic in defences, but. like Franz Carr, you always wondered if he knew what was going to happen next.

With Lolley and Mighten out for a while this is probably the chance for him to force his way in to a regular spot in the match day squad going forward. Probably going to get some minutes over the next few games, needs to make an impact. Decent(ish) start yesterday.

He actually wanted to get the ball and looked to make things happen. Which seems simple but so many go on and go through the motions

Think I’d back Silva than Lolley in beating a player for pace.

Both were very valuable players for us during thier time here. Pace is a wonderful asset.

Ps. This doesn't go for Diakhaby who was just useless.

Diakhaby is an example you tell the kids about.

'Listen. If he can make it, so can you'

"But surely you have to have something dad, some kind of talent?"

"No son, you can be shit you've just got to believe"

The form Cooper has got out of the likes of Yates & Colback is enough of a reason on its own for us not to write Silva off. That and the fact that he’s barely had a chance yet!

I saw enough of him against Middlesborough to know that the lad has pace and a bit of that unpredictable trickery Ameobi had in him to cause issues for a defender. As some posters have said, if that effort had gone in off the post it would have been huge for him on his first game under SC

Sure, I doubt he is a player that will form an integral part of our starting 11. But thats always going to be the case in championship squads, and getting the best out of these sort of squad players (especially in these tricky winter months) is crucial for any playoff chasing team. I’m sure the lad will have a role to play in the next couple of games..

Some confusion in the Greek press about Silva. Some think the deal with Aris is still on, some claim Aris (with financial problems due to yet another lockdown) try to get him for free and you refused, some that negotiations are still on, some that it may be off.

I still think Mighten's injury changed things.

Amongst many things I like about Cooper I’m particularly pleased he pushes our attacking lads to go at defenders and beat them. There was no doubt Mighten has been given a kick up the arse and looked much mire direct against Hull-which he has to do if he’s going to survive at this level.
Silva has pace and physicality and looks made for that sort of game and so he may force his way in…

There seems to be something there.

Do we have the time (and inclination) to persevere with him until it shows on a consistent level?

I agree, he had a very good game tonight and gives us far more than Taylor does, when Taylor comes on we look very unbalanced because he offers absolutely nothing, I hope that’s the last we see of him in the Garibaldi

Looks so much better than most of us expected.

Direct, pacey, unpredictable and with 3 shots that all could quite easily could have found the back of the net in 2 games.

I had a vision of a fast, headless chicken, ala Nathan Tyson, but this guy has both a decent touch and football brain.

Yeah ok he scored those goals against Bristol but then even Matt Derbyshire scored that worldy against Leeds

He's been utter shit for us, sadly

You need wide players to make impact and influence the game-which he has done in both games. Could have a bagged a few goals already. Pacy with a trick or two-suits our style

And people question why we’re bringing in the lad from Villa, he’s literally a younger stronger and probably better version of Taylor without the winding up antics.

Taylor is absolute cack.

Silva did what I expected from him, this is one of the few times where his YouTube highlights (and GBGs definition of him since he played in Greece) panned out like it’s supposed. His quick and tricky, more than we can say for Lolley.
