Wasn't there reports of him agreeing terms with us a few weeks ago? How can you sit on that for this long, wait for the clubs to finally agree a fee, then say nah don't fancy it now.

I’m not bothered about this, mainly because I’d never even heard of the bloke until this thread. Plenty more fish in the sea etc.

Moreno's stats show him as a good all-round defender, a goal threat and a very good ball carrier, it's crucial to the way we play and it was evident how much Toffolo struggled with it when he got on the ball on Saturday, it was either a lump up the line and turnover possession or he'd attempt a dribble, get pressed, turn and run back towards our goal. We need a player there who is gonna back himself to take the pressing defenders on, carry us up the pitch and deliver the goods. Bit gutted he's turned us down as I thought it looked like we'd gotten ourselves the perfect player for our system and a bargain at that. Club needs to keep its head and move onto the next similar target now, don't just panic and sign someone who doesn't fit because they're available or they're a big name.

The reaction is interesting, Betis fans obviously full of praise but........Arsenal fans seem hugely put out because his sale was supposed to see funds raised for Bellerin purchase and Rayo Vallecano seem peeved because (a) They won't get anything from a sell on clause and (b) Betis have been tapping up their left back as a replacement for longer than we have been interested.

Bet his agent is annoyed as well.

Oh well, as they say next man up.

Hardly a difficult decision was it? Hmm do I stay in my home nation and compete at the top end of the table, in the warm climes of Andalusia or do I move to the East Midlands and battle and scrap each week in the pissing down rain for a point here and there.

It's never done until it's really done, but you have to wonder how you let it get to the point of booking a medical and only then deciding to change course.

Oh well. We wait for Richards to be fit , and see who else gets linked in the meantime.
