I think Toffolo will next season either be loaned out (if we avoid relegation) or a starter (if we don't avoid relegation).

I think that's right.
Make no mistake hes a decent enough player, hes just lacking in a bit of pace and guile for an adequate prem wingback, but hes defensively stronger than average and at Championship level would let no one down. I think hes far better than Max Lowe for example.

If we stay up there’s no way we loan Toffolo out. He either stays or is sold, and that goes for almost any player who’s not young.

You are right but in turn the wingbacks only get their forward licence from the CM which has to have parity and grip. Without that the wing backs aren’t really in the attacking game

I'd actually say it starts a little earlier, we play a back three and they must be comfortable on the ball, especially when we are pressed as we often will be. I think both Worrall and McKenna have lots of admirable qualities but I do worry how they'll be on the ball with a constant high tempo press.

If they struggle it will pull the wing backs and the central midfield 20 yards deeper than we'd like them to be. I'm not expecting them to play like a trio of Rijkard, Beckenbauer and Barresi but they need to form a functional passing unit.

Jury is out on Niakhate, couple of heavy touches, couple of decent ones.

Yes theres a lot of truth in that Calvin. Trouble is that was exactly the problem we had under Hughton-where by choice (rather than because of the press) we sat so damn deep that our CB's had far too much of our possession and in the end our midfield got a nose bleed when they went beyond the 18 yard line. Once that bullshit sets in nothing works because any players daft enough to try and attack would find themselves 50 yards from the nearest red shirt..

Delighted with this signing if it happens. You can never have too much quality in the squad. With all due respect we could never just make do with Toffolo as our sole left back. It'd get exploited so much.

Anyone seen Djed play in the Prem yet? I mean, is he really that good?

We're pining for him, but like most of our team, it's just an illusion at the moment. We wait for reality.

Even when we do see Djed play the comparison won't be fair. Djed will walk into a side full of seasoned Premier league and International talent. At Forest he would have been one of many who had never played at this level in England.

It needs repeating: this is the most inexperienced squad Forest will ever had had in the Premier league (in terms of Premier league experience).

We don't know. What do we know is that we like to hit teams very quickly on the break and we clearly miss his pace.

"Hello Betis fans, I want to share this message with you and tell you that Real Betis will continue to be my home this season. It is true that both the club and I have received a proposal to join another team. I am grateful for the important offer I have received, but after evaluating it, both Real Betis and I have decided to continue together. The affection of the fans, the sports project and the trust that they have shown me from all levels of the club have led me to put my commitment to Betis before any others. I want to continue growing with Betis and all my efforts will be aimed at giving my best to make this season unforgettable again."

Not that much of a surprise, it always felt like an odd one.

I will second the tempting of fate with the full name comment also.

That’s really disappointing - we really need someone in that role and he seemed perfect. I hope we have others lined up for the position and quickly

Bum. On to the next one - the annoying thing is that we'll have lost time with our recruitment pursuing him, assuming he'd already said he would come.
