Also feels like the sale of Mangala within a few months of the Brennan sale shows that we don’t have all our eggs in 1 basket in terms of generating transfer revenue.
Was it Percy who reported we’d been in constant communication with the league during the summer period.
I imagine, irregardless of whether we got any significant response, that is important correspondence during this process.
It shows an understanding of the rules, a willingness to act...
I couldn’t decide whether the 6 point minimum was in reference to this particular case, rather than a baseline for any PSR infringement. Hoping the former.
Yeah I just finished reading through the 60 page decision (a real page turner…). Can’t decide where it leaves us.
I think repeated references to “sailing close to the wind” can’t be helpful for our case, but the subsequent sales of Johnson and Mangala may be used as ammo in your break-even...
Can’t work out what I’m hoping for tonight? Is any result particularly bad for us. Ideally we’d keep Everton at bay, given FFP punishment set to impact both us and them?
How much would we actually see of the fee. Do we know the sell on? Often as high as 40% from South American clubs. Would imagine the size of the % impacts our willingness to sell
The difference with a release clause is payment terms though. It can’t be prorated in the same way a standard offer can, so has a drastic impact on FFP.
Yeah this seems pretty bang on.
I actually just think the Johnson sale does 2 things:
- Impacts who we target at CDM (Sangare vs Ndidi)
- Impacts whether we sign Hudson-Odoi (retaining our homegrown status and replacing the body at WF)
