Bin VAR!
Didn’t think there was a minimum for the prem - but it does have to be points. Does feel like they make most of it up as they go along!
That would be my prediction as well.I have said for a while I think it will be 6 overall with 2 or 3 suspended for the next three years (on the unwritten agreement that we don't appeal)
So essentially a 3 or 4 point penalty for this year and a huge incentive for us not to do it again (as it would be 8 or 9 total next time as a minimum)
It wouldn't be 8 or 9 as a minimum as you get 9 for going into administration.I have said for a while I think it will be 6 overall with 2 or 3 suspended for the next three years (on the unwritten agreement that we don't appeal)

6. Plus the 2 or 3 suspended. It wouldn't be 8 or 9 as a minimum as you get 9 for going into administration.
You’d hope there wouldn’t be a ‘next time’.6. Plus the 2 or 3 suspended.
Can we do a sweep?
I’ll have 2 points!
In theory,Otis-but you can bet your bottom dollar that the EPL and the commissionSurely, it's not the (so-called) independent commission's gift to offer a 'no-appeal' deal anyway?
I suspect you're right Cloughie. Although, as Notcher commented earlier, even if we had a gentleman's agreement to not appeal a lesser sanction it wouldn't be legally binding. In theory,Otis-but you can bet your bottom dollar that the EPL and the commission
have discussed this.
The EPL will be desperate for Forest not to appeal (as with the Everton 2nd charge).
No,but I would expect Forest to issue a club statement to the effect that they are satisfied thatI suspect you're right Cloughie. Although, as Notcher commented earlier, even if we had a gentleman's agreement to not appeal a lesser sanction it wouldn't be legally binding.
I'd hope we appeal any deduction above one or maybe two points. No,but I would expect Forest to issue a club statement to the effect that they are satisfied that
they had a fair hearing and consider the matter closed.
I don’t personally think the ‘crime’ was that heinous but if we’ve exceeded the spending
limits we can expect some punishment. As long as this is realistic I think it’s in the best
interests of all parties to move on.
More likely that the commission will have to put a claim in for third party, fire and Marinakis.Monty Python thought.
What if we got relegated and Marinakis got fed up that he wasn't able to inject cash and took his ball home. We struggle to find another buyer and end up in the proper brown stuff.
Contrary to the point of the whole system, I think, unless the point is to ringfence those at the top...
Very silly indeed.
Let’s wait and see tomorrow,Otis-I suspect Forest would take 3 and at a push 4 (with possiblyI'd hope we appeal any deduction above one or maybe two points.
The punishment can't be increased by appealing it Cloughie so there's nothing to lose.Let’s wait and see tomorrow,Otis-I suspect Forest would take 3 and at a push 4 (with possibly
an additional 2 or 3 suspended).
I think EM would need to listen to De Marco and possibly Randall as to the prospects of any
appeal (unless we get a stupid deduction) being successful.
It could be a ‘take it or leave it’ offer,Otis i.e 6 points now and take your chances on appeal orThe punishment can't be increased on appeal Cloughie so there's nothing to lose.
You can’t have your cake and eat it
