We complain about match day prices over here, the absolute cheapest ticket you can purchase for their cup final is $350 rising all the way up to $700

US sports are insanely expensive. My mate paid $18 for a can of Budweiser at a hockey match in New York, and they still expected a tip for picking it off the shelf for him.

I went to a baseball match in Cincinatti a few months ago and it was the same story there.

American's don't pay people like Messi bucket loads and plan to lose money. They are doing it to make money & will milk everyone for every penny they've got. It's the American way.

Beer is very expensive at sporting events in the US, $16/18 is the norm. In general the US is now a very expensive place to visit from overseas, ever since Covid and the election in 2020 prices have significantly risen on everything. Our Friends and family who regularly visit us from the UK have all been shocked by prices and especially eating out in restaurants and hotels. No longer good value for a holiday.

That is just greed, though, is it not?

How can they justify $16-18 for the (frankly) piss that is served there? It is a shocker.

Not sure English football is any different tbh, just the US has different norms. We both charge as much as we can get away with.
US & UK sports culture couldn't be further apart IMO. I think there is a massive difference.

Premier League football is still undervalued compared to what people would pay, we would moan and kick up a fuss more than the yanks will - because the culture is different.

Look on here at how much people moan at paying below the going rate for the Premier League.

The average ticket price in the NFL is $150, but that’s if you can buy from the club directly, expect to get ripped off by resellers.

What they do have going for them is you can watch every single NFL/NBA game on tv for a few hundred dollars, compare that to the UK where the full sky package is well over £100 per month and you can’t legally watch the majority of games.

The UK needs to scrap the 3PM blackout and have every game not selected for sky coverage on an app like they do on states.

I should add, it was about 5 years ago. Tickets were $60-80 each from my vague memory. We certainly didn't pay hundreds or we wouldn't have gone.

It also depends on how shit your team is, usually I can trust the SF giants to stink up the room so their tickets are so god damn cheap.

49ers, they’re usually a top 5 team so tickets are damn expensive but maybe you can get a ticket on the one half of the stadium that gets direct sunlight.

Top quality beer everywhere now, Chris. Especially if you’re in an area with popular breweries.

But of course if I’m WATCHING FOOTBALL OR BASEBALL I NEED TO DRINK BUD LIGHT.

I was recently in the Pacific Northwest, and went to a Seattle Mariners game.

The tickets for my wife and I cost the same as a beer each - which, to be fair, were good quality, 700ml, 6% IPAs
