This feels like the quietest week for Forest on transfers all summer. Very few legitimate sources linking us to players and seemingly no real movement. I thought it’d be all go a couple weeks out from KO.

Have to think we’ll hear some big news soon

You're obviously in the know and well informed by your sauces because I have heard this too, especially about the carpet issue.

However, the bigger problem - and one that you hint at in your post but do not expand upon - is the power struggle over the managers office between Steve and Marinakis Jr. It's South West facing and lovely sunshine streams in through the window in the late afternoon/early evening. Marinakis Jr wants it for himself but Steve, despite not being happy with that carpet, is refusing to relocate to another office.

My opinion - for what it's worth - is that Steve should move office. I'm minded to back him over all decisions but on this occasion, I'm siding with Jr. Steve is generally in his office in the mornings and has gone by the late afternoon whereas Jr is often at work late into the evening. This saga will continue for a while yet and I'm afraid there may only be one outcome . . . .

We're doomed.

But the man has agreed it 'in principle' so surely all that needs to be done is to actually pick the pen up and write his name. I dont buy the rubbish that he's concentrating on signing players instead as it takes less time to sign once it's agreed than it does for me to type this post and he's not doing the signing anyway.

I don't get why it hasn't been done to be honest and it doesn't exactly fill me with confidence. I don't think I've ever heard of a manager doing this before. There's an underlying reason why he hasn't signed it, we'll probably never know but it's a bit worrying...

Betis supporters are a bit unhappy with us, they reckon we've offered €10m for both Moreno and Carvalho. They seem to think that we'd be lucky to get Carvalho alone for that amount and that Moreno is worth €20m on his own!

I think we've done well in negotiations so far, from what information is available. Mainz were disgusted by one of our derisory offers if memory serves.

I think we got good value on niakhaté, O'Brien, Toffolo, Lingard, Hennessy and the players we've sold.

Biancone, Richards, Williams, Awoniyi and Aguilera to be confirmed but all seem reasonable.

I would put mangala in the first group too.

I'd rather we didn't buy either, to be honest. Carvalho wouldn't be a good fit and I'd be horrified if we paid €20m for a 29 year old left back having already signed two this summer.

Appropos of nothing, I think we probably have a few deals on the precipice of being sewn up but we complete until we're more certain about other deals that are in the making.

At that point, we might have 4 or 5 contenders for 3 or 4 final contracts.

It might also be that Forest have agreements „in principle“ with other clubs (and Players) but completion of those deals depends on the transfer activities of those specific clubs, before a „formal“ agreement happens?
