It's been one hell of a dramatic week.

Toffolo and O'Brien deals nearly collapsing, only to then eventually sign. Then out of nowhere we beat West Ham to the signing of England international Jesse Lingard.

It's never boring, is it? f***ing love this club.

The promoted side was better last time out though, and not so many loan players

Campbell
van Hooijdonk
Stone
Woan
Rogers
Johnson
Cooper
Chettle
Beasant
Crossley

Ok so we sold Campbell, van Hooijdonk went on strike, and we let Cooper go back to Boro, but they all got us up.

We'd also won the division easily rather than getting up with an OG in the play off final.

Had we kept Campbell and PvH had not flounced off, Darcheville, Freedman and Shipperley would probably have been fine as cover strikers.

Quashie and Gray were shite but I think they were young players who didn't cost a lot.

It was much less of a squad game those days too.

Even then we didn't get absolutely mullered very often but lost consistently because all the goals had pretty much been ripped out of the side.

Nottingham's dirty secret
I'm still absolutely buzzing. I've had to drink copious amounts of wine last night & tonight else I wouldn't sleep.

With the heatwave as well it's all felt a bit surreal. I'm half expecting us to finally announce Baggio.

If we kept PVH and Campbell that season we would have finished mid-table and the course of our history could have changed but alas we finally don't have to be so bitter about things like this anymore

Out of all the transfers, I feel I should be most pleased about getting someone with the experience and ability of Jesse.... I just worry about the dressing room and also whether his desire will continue if he is no longer in the picture for the England team. However I think I may be getting his attitude mixed up with a different Premiership player (hope so)..

I think Quashie was like £3m, which was a lot back then.

What do you know, you filthy tease?

I'd be delighted with Jimmy G & I'd love Joël Piroe.

I'd shit the bed and not change the sheets for a week for both and be quite happy to go into the season with them in the squad we now have.
Nothing I just think we will 😂

The MGW money is still around and I think the best is yet to come. We were looking at that midfielder Onana as well who was rumoured at €35m.

Been a brilliant window. Realistically how many more do you think we'll get now? Two, three max? Doesn't feel like anything is now particularly imminent, but I'm sure that's not the case. Roll on the new season, I can't wait.
