I can see 'gone to Forest' entering modern vernacular as to mean 'It was inevitable'

I think I'm being a bit dim. Do you mean one may replace the other?
I was referring to the article which stated we are after another player which would be a marquee signing. Tadic fits that and was a name I was given although it's completely BUPA at this stage.

Gotcha, i think you got the wrong Fabrizio tweet that's all. Hopefully you're right.

There’s no doubt our squad needed major work to be able to compete in this league but how the hell do you get a team of strangers to gel in just a few weeks?

the big thing is that we’ve seemingly signed great characters which should make it easier for everyone to gel.

I just saw the official site tweet "Who's for another one? with the signing emoji and a󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿, it deleted as I tried to get a screenshot!

What does it mean if anything?

(It might not have even been the official site tbh as another tweet has cropped up from Argentina supporters talking about Ramsey)

I listened to a podcast - I think David Prutton and the BBC Radio guy who is a Forest fan but his name escapes me - in which they said teams that stay up keep the bulk of our squad and that's what we should do. But I don't think that was ever realistic. Spence was always going to Spurs. Villa think Davis is worth more than we do - the same applies to Rowe (but he isn't a PL player), Garner was always going to try his luck with Man U & Zinc just wasn't good enough.......we do have Johnson, Yates, McKenna, Worrall, Might, Colback & Surridge tho - 4 of whom are local lads.

Cooper integrated 5 new signings seamlessly after the January transfer window (Cook, Laryea, Surridge, Panzo & Davis) - three of whom went on to become first team regulars and big contributors to what we did achieve.

Also, before that Spence and Lowe were late arrivals, after the season had already started and hadn't been around long before Cooper turned up.

So, he does have some previous - just needs to do it on a bit bigger scale this time around (albeit with the benefit of a little pre-season training).

Much harder to do when Spence, Lowe, Zinckernagel, Davis and Garner weren't yours anyway and pretty much always started when fit.

Which left the rest of the side as like, Samba, Worrall, Cook, McKenna, Colback, Yates, Johnson, Grabban, Surridge... Some of them obviously not all together.

Of those, one of them wanted to leave and another out of contract, then there's always question marks over the ex-PL players (who couldn't get games at prev clubs) and those who have no PL experience at all, which leaves really just Cook who played regularly for Bournemouth in the PL.

And of course little doubt Johnson would make the step up but still.

And that's before you consider the fringe players.

Much as you'd like to think it was feasible, it probably wouldn't have been possible to do it.

Aaron Ramsey being mentioned too. Biscuit.
I know I would go against the grain but he is somebody I wouldn't mind.

We are not talking about a regular or even a key player.

But we are in need of somebody who's gonna put his foot on the ball in the games where we are overrun in midfield. He is an excellent player, look what he does for Wales. We have such a young squad, it really doesn't hurt us to add somebody like him.

I think we need a regular/key player central midfielder still. Really it should be one of Yates or O'Brien alongside a top player, depending on who we play.

We don't need Ramsey as a back-up to those three, or as a backup to Lingard. Too much outlay, not worth it, may as well pay a little bit of money for a decent youngster with intention to develop them (maybe already have in Christina).

Probably a shoe-in for the WC squad regardless but he might want to keep his tools sharp. Agreed, Ramsey off the bench when we need a goal isn't crazy thinking as the bloke can cause havoc in and around the box.

Yeah I dont disagree with that, we need another body in CM regardless - I just wouldn't be against Ramsey if he did end up signing. He can offer stuff others in the squad can't.

Jack Burkitt
No way - he'd be very much a fingers crossed kind of signing, whereas we're building a powerful squad of good performers, speedy and quick and generally young ... on all counts Ramsey is a no.

Nottingham's dirty secret
Consider his appalling injury record, I'd thought only an appearance based deal would work with someone like him for us
Be a complete waste of time. You can't plan for anything when a player is injured 90% of the time. Will just bring down the rest of the squad with his biscuity ways.
