I *may* have had a few beers at this point.

But I think it's the quality and positions that still require strengthening that concerns me. Finding a midfield enforcer, a playmaker and a striker will be a tough ask, especially ones of the quality which we will need.

MGW has gone quiet, our primary CM targets seem to be off the cards and we still only have two players capable of finding the back of the net.

Not only do we need to get them in, we need to get them playing as a team before an early starting PL season.

Teams that start as badly as it looks like we may do, nearly never recover.

No new link since end of season talk, but I'd still like us to look at taking Luka Milivojevic from Crystal Palace. Would add some real experience to CM and still has a lot to offer.

I'm still worried about the lack of goals, but think the club know this too - Awoyini doesn't look that much like an out and out predator, more a Davis type and players who create chances still need someone who can knock them in reliably.

Yes I tend to agree. It's the hardest part to get right do I hope we've got it covered.

We have not seen Surridge yet, and Johnson (with his Premiership hairdo) for a few minutes. However, I agree, we do need a proven goal scorer.

From what I've seen in pre-season and from YouTube vids of last season he's nothing like Davis. Doesn't seem to excel at holding the ball up and playing others in like Davis. More - a run in behind the last man type player.

Think we need Davis as well personally.

They have similar stature but he looks more Assombalonga than Davis to me.

When you look at Barcelona paying €50m for (nearly) 34-year old Robert Lewandowski, and Erling Haaland going for similar money, a prime Withe and Woodcock would be up there.

And Robbo, in the modern game I reckon he would have been an orchestrator like Kevin de Bruyne, and if you want to buy him, bring money; lots of it.
