Well, FIFA have decided on expanding the World Cup and having groups of three nations. The Euro's screwed over in the group stages with some groups having three teams going through and now the Wrold Cup group stages screwed over by an only having three nations per group. What a shit show all round.

I can't say I'm in favour of changing the tournament but looking at the plans for 16 groups of 3 with top 2 progressing to the knockout phase will actually mean a higher percentage of meaningful games and less dead rubbers. The trouble is the more meaningful games could be something like Malaysia vs. Gabon
